Playing aces in this hand was pretty easy, lol. Just thought it was fun taking the stack of one of the pros, even though he wasn't playing too well. He left the table just after this, and so did I. 3 handed with Ozzy 87 and krisqueen didn't seem like such a great idea.

Nice! So much for Matusow now playing online poker anymore...

And yeah, he pretty much handed you his stack. Do those railbirds get annoying?
  3. #3
lol he doesn't care about money
  4. #4
Yeah, I dunno what he was doing. There are lots of railbirds whenever there's a pro at a table at FullTilt it seems, mostly it's just fun with all the wierd stuff they say.

so you are Iwind - I see you at the tables some there - What do you think of Krisqueen? I see her/him all the time on FTP and can't make anything of his play - He will bet with nothing the same way he bets the nuts - that one seems to be totally fearless....

I have watched Matusow go through thousands - I sat and watched him go through like 50K+ 1 time...He seemed to chill out and go to the 10/20 NL tables lately, but he used to play the 50NL and they would just eat him up - Maybe the money just really doesn't mean much to him....

This is pretty much exactly like lambchop vs Layne Flack, just lamb was a short stack ninja in that hand.

Never say never. For me, once in a blue moon.

    Nh, btw, Iwind.

You guys ever see when Matusow and his buds do their allin games? I was watching them with a friend one day (can't recall the other names) but they would all raise to $1,000 preflop, and check through. Very entertaining, to say the least.

That man has no respect for money, so I'm sure he doesn't care how much he loses.

matusow started off as a dealer - i'm sure he has respect for money - BUT, when you come to a piont where you have made SO MUCH money, why shouldn't you have fun...? I mean, who wants to play poker for 25 years and squirrel every nickel away? I sure don't - I want to enjoy it -

last I heard, matusow had about one million...

    ...in debt.

I'm pretty sure his 2005 WSOP winnings were exactly one million. I find it hard to believe he could lose 2 million between then and now.

+ he won the $1,000,000 TOC.... but he is a pretty crazy gambler mind you.

lifetime winnings (tourneys only) = $3,399,858 - He was in jail for doing the coke thing, but still...can you really blow 3 million dollars? Especially with 2Mil coming just last year?

wait, actually Unger might have blown more than that....nevermind - Well, that would be very sad if he was a mil. in the hole -

He didnt get all that money either. He was staked for most of his wins and he blows it quicly on drugs/ moronic play.

many pros are backed/staked so there's more than meets the eye to their true net profit. toss in a rabid coke habit and $3m looks more like a challenge ala brewster's millions than an actual high stakes bankroll.
In answer to your question... it depends...

you say this like it's a bad thing...lots of people have coke habits...at least he can afford his - I say more power to him - As long as he's not on my street with a damn cup in his hand, he can spend his money however he wants

well, kinda and kinda not - I guess the point im making (not very well) is that it sounds like everyone is just hating on Mike here - Kinda like we're all hating from afar, when the fact is that those guys have money most of us can't even fathom (except Gabe - if $40k a month is a goal, he has some idea of what that kinda money might be Like me and my wife make around $100k a year, and we own a rental house along with our main house...If we received our salary, w/out taxes, for 10 years, we would have what Mike took for 9th place this year...and we are middle class incomes, you know - I read Josh Arieh's blog about how him, Lindgren and Negrenau bet $10k on a game of horse, and a game of pool...Matusow loses 2100 and it's like everyone is saying "Oh, he has a coke habit and is probably broke" - well i say Don't hate, Congratulate - lol

I just don't think we really understand what kinda money he has, and we are kinda being the haters in the corner...
