Default $22 180, Final Table. 87s in SB

What do you do here? Seems too playable to fold to the BB here.

    After reraise, easy call?

Why raise 4x here? Your M us under 7, you probably have to push or fold here.
As played you are getting ~ 2:1 here, so I guess call. The fact that folding leaves you in 4th place argues for a fold.

I take it back, considering Q (relative stack sizes) going out here without a big edge is criminal. You could surrender your SB, or min/raise even 3x raise and fold is better. The more aggressive / loose BB is the more inclined I am to fold 87s here.

Yeah, I realized after I did it that the raise was probably exactly the wrong size. 2.5x or 3x was better, but then I really don't want a call either.

Given that super shorty is about to be wiped out, I either fold or complete here preflop.

As played, I fold after his raise.

I knew I muffed this one all around but I decided I wanted to play to win here, shortstack be damned. I decided 2-1 was exactly the right odds to try to double up on a likely 60-40 so I called.

You are right that his most probable holding here is AK or just two overcards and he is trying to use his stack to bully you. But he also could easily have 77+ here so it's a pretty big gamble to call here.

I like Chard's line. I would rather push from the button with this hand to pick-up both blinds. If you're going to raise with this hand from the sb, you push. If you complete to see a flop and he pushes you fold.

given it's the FT I think in your mind you have to adjust to 70/30 because he's more likely to do this with pairs that dominate you - you put a major dent in his stack. Unless he's really been playing aggresive - like you could give him 66 or A5ish here and probably you can play. But if that's the case, the pre flop raise is a disaster, like zen said. This is the most obivous play for him, and you don't have a hand to back it with.. BUT you're getting 2/1, so you call. And end up with your chips in with 87.

Limp/fold is fine. Plus, you gain info and if you happen to find QQ in the SB next couple orbits...

He had AK and flop came A87. Better to be lucky sometimes than good.
Playing big pots at small stakes.
