    Default Weak aces late game

I've gotten knocked out several times lately when I push with a weak ace (a7 - a10, that's as weak as I go) late game with a low M. I'm starting to second guess whether it's really worth it, becuase if I get called, I'm generally dominated by a stronger ace or 10's+. But do I really have a choice?

SNGPT can answer these questions for you.

Pushing UTG with this many people requires a very strong hand, and pushing something like 87 is actually a better move than A8 in this situation because if you get called, you're likely dominated by a higher ace. Look for situations to push from the SB or Button when folded around to you with basically anything. It's much more +EV than pushing a weak ace in EP.

I push here, but I'd rather do it with other cards.

I would fold here and do one of two things - 1) push with better cards such as a stronger A or connectors, mid PP's etc. 2) push from the cutoff or button with a wide range of hands.

I don't like pushing from UTG with Weak A's and that many people left.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

I don't think you have much choice here.
If table is kinda loose, you may not get a chance to open-push on the button or co, and going through the blinds here is.

I used to think 87 was better than A8 here... but some math indicates it's not that clear cut. The difference between AK vs 87 and AK vs A8 is only 67:33 vs 70:24 (6% ties), while 78 is much worse vs 99-KK and KQ/KQ/QJ all of which might call.

Also the BB is almost as bad off as you - actually worse considering he just payed the BB. He kinda has to call with any two, and A8 is WAY ahead of that.

If you don't want to push A8 UTG 6-handed, I suggest pushing something else in better position or not getting short stacked in the first place!

i think the position has everything to do with folding here. if this is MP+2 +, i make this push, but UTG this is clearly a fold IMO.

I know what you are saying... but he's going through the blinds next two hands. If he was UTG+1, I would lean towards passing.
