You are telling me you think none of these guys has:
    1) the case queen
    2) one of the 6 9s or 8s
    3) ANY pocket pair.

Fold the flop, what is WRONG with you.

this is a clear fold. someone made their boat. i guess you were getting 7:1 to complete from the small blind, but i fold to the first bet post flop
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.
  4. #4
Yeah, you have to assume that at least a boat is taking this. Don't continue without a PP.
  5. #5
Ditto what was said before. If you don't think that at least ONE of the others has a Q, 9, 8, PP...then maybe you've got the "they're all bluffing me!" syndrome.

    Yeah, Hero hit the straight.

Well, intresting, what if you where sitting in Jennifers seat with [ Kd, 9c ] (Full house) and didn't know that Hero had a straight. Would you push it like she did?

    'nuff said.

Well, I'm trying to analyze this game from the 3 people that were left to SD. Hero apparently failed. A straight sometimes isn't much worth. What about Jennifers full house ? What would you do in that situation?
  10. #10
There's nothing in the flop or turn action to suggest that there's a higher pair out there than 99, so her push is fine.
  11. #11
I think Jennifer with K9 should bet the turn when checked to. Many bad river cards.
On the river (turn as played) .. I am way more worried about Frank's min/raise than Hero's whateva.

I guess you have to just shrug and pay off quads here. TT/JJ/KK/AA seems highly unlikely.

Why do all the players have real names?

    I masked all the names.

I think this hand was intresting. Not just because I am Frank here and had [ Qs, 4s ]. Should I have played it differently? An early raise would probably scare them away or?

Trap trap trap with a hand like that.

Your minraise on the river worked but against decent players it just would have gotten you less value as anyone with the 9 or maybe even the 8 should just be calling there.

As played, Hero is retarded for thinking his str8 is best on that board.

Jennifer is retarded for pushing against an overbet, and then a minraise on that river - the action screams a slow played Q, it is very unlikely that both players have the 8 here.

I'd focus on not being a fish mike, you have a lot to learn. I'm not trying to be harsh.
Keep working on your game. I'd say a good lesson to learn here is don't be blinded by your cards.

Boy, I am glad I insulted a random donk rather than the actual poster.

River kind of plays itself once people start putting money in. I think because it's an unraised pot pre-flop, you can just push over on the river - since it's highly unlikley you have an TT-AA.
  18. #18
Please, say what I should have done.

As I interpret it, one of you think that I should have pushed earlier. The other that I only should have called on the river, right? Why?

    It's read dependent.

If you don't think anyone will call a raise then you should try and either induce a bluff or get an overcall by just calling. If you think that the first raiser actually has a boat here which he can't let go then you should just push.

I don't mind calling the flop and seeing what the turn brings, as a T or J will give you a pretty much a lock hand unless someone limped AA or KK, or hit the case Q. I muck the river for reasons said above though.

I would've check folded the flop and the river.

Huh? Didn't you flop quads? It's kinda hard to screw that up (unless you fold) because all that matters is what the other guys have. If someone has a good boat, they are going to pay you off. Rare will you get a maroon who thinks his straight or a-high is g00t, especially with so many seeing the flop.

Maybe I am oversimplifying but at some point in the hand you have to push or better yet call a push.

Iowa...pay attention. The post was a trick. The real question the poster wants answered (and what most of the above refer to) is what to do if you, like the actual poster, were in the BB with Q4o.

I doubt you check/fold the flop or the river.
