Default Stat check: 80 11's SNG

through 80 SNG's after I started my spreadsheet.
Total Inc. Total Cost ROI ITM% Profit Hourly rate
    $988.20 $823.50 20% 39% $164.70 7.537757437

I'd like to get my ROI in the 25-30% range, this is doable at 11's right? I'm on a bad run recently.

Default Re: Stat check: 80 11's SNG

I'm only at the $5.5 but...

    through 87 SNG's
    ROI ITM% Profit
    3.5% 38% $16.50

I'd like to get my ROI in the 25-30% range, this is doable at 5.5's right?

Why are our ITM the same and my ROI sucks?
    1st - 10
    2nd - 14
    3rd - 9
    4th - 9
    5th - 12
    6th - 21 <------ I go kinda nutty on the tight tables
    7th - 3
    8th - 5
    9th - 4

I don't know and I am only going off your stats, but it looks like there are too many 2nds there. Maybe your HU could do with some work or possibly you are arriving ITM and playing too loose or too tight. I think your distribution should be weighted with a few more firsts and thirds.

Let's say you lose 4 2nds and gain 2 1sts and 2 3rds instead. Your ROI only jumps to 5.3% and an extra $9, but figure this across a bigger sample and you are close to two extra buy-ins.

Oh, and 21 6ths is a cause for concern as well.

Just keep doin' what you're doin.

What's your br? Once I hit around 800 I started donkin' around in the 22s, and they are strikingly close to the 11s.

    what's ROI?

a tip for heads up play - play way more aggressively. play allin with any ace or king or pair and a lot of other hands if the blinds are very big.

i've played quite a few sngs at paradise and ive come 3rd once out of 50. 2nd about 7 times and first about 20 times.

that's because when the blinds get big i play very aggresively. when you dont get called allin you get the huge blinds. and when you do get called. you stand a good chance of winning

80 SNGs is way too small to really tell anything.

I've had a run of 250 SNGs with an ROI of -3%, followed by a run of 500 SNGs with an ROI of 16%.

However, to run 20% over 80, you should be a winner of some sort.

lol yeah I know 80 is too small but I'm just checking.

Anyway my roll hovers around 800 because I cash out a lot, but I don't think I'm gonna cash out till I reach a roll that can move up. I four table the 11's so I like to play conservatively towards my bank roll so I don't get so upset over swings.

    Iowa,
Can you post your finish break-down like I did? I was kind of curious about the stat thing, but didn't feel I was in a position to start a thread about it. Sorry to hijack yours. I've been contemplating why my ROI blows. I would like a reference point.

    Thanks

Don't conclude anything from 87 SNGs, and don't start worrying yet either.

Here it is, I'm just going to do 1-4. out of 94. Now 25% Roi, ITM 40%

1st -16 (I really should have more, have gotten unlucky).
    2nd- 10
    3rd- 12
    4th- 16

If you're having problems getting first, my tip is this: There's only a 10% increase from 3rd to 2nd. However there is 30% increase in money from 3rd to first. Gamble for first, Second is kinda worthless.

So, if 4 of my seconds become firsts, and I get 2 more 3rd place that would be +$45 for me. So it's close enough to variance that it's hard to tell.

Especially when the first 47 were before reading HOH I & II I'm not going to make sweeping changes, but over those first 47 I was happy ITM and kinda lost on how to get to 1st.

Isn't it safe to say that I need to be ITM just a little more, and once there 1st just a little more?

    Just for fun:

The first peak was 1-3rd, 4-2nd, 2-1st (in that order) over 9 games. After the valley I took 2 months off.
