Default OK ... Hit my set but villain says not so fast

I have played this villain before. His stats (18 / 5 / 3.0 over 1000 hands) belie his sometimes off the wall play. Last month, he pushed over my PFR with his KK and my AA ... he hits 4 diamonds to a flush and stacks me. Though that was in the back of my mind, it was not too important to this hand (except yes I would like my money back).

Comments welcome. Obviously, if he had QQ, I was dead but I was willing to run with my 9s. Donk-ish?

This is fine, if I am checkraise this flop I would make a bigger raise though.

Just so I understand. Pot was $4 on the flop and villain bets $4 to make it $8 ... so my PSB+ wasn't big enough? Go with 2x the pot?

i think I lead here just because you can't anticipate a 3bet ai very often, generally your checkraise will spook most players worse than leading.

i'm also going to guess with he won the hand with qq or a flush, because this hand is pretty straightforward. there isn't a person in the world i'd fold here to.
i betcha that i got something you ain't got, that's called courage, it don't come from no liquor bottle, it ain't scotch

the pot was 8, you raised 6. a raise to 12-16 is better here.
