Default Can't seem to take first place- need advice

I've been playing a lot of $6 SNG limit hold'em lately. I'm finishing in the money 70-75% of the time, but RARELY take down first place; i.e., I have lots of second and third place finishes but only a couple of firsts.

I need some advice on how to play heads up and/or three-handed at this stage in a SNG. After looking at all the hands I'm losing to, it almost seems like I should basically be playing just about any face card that I'm dealt and raise 100% of the time on the button. This obviously can't be the correct strategy, right? How do you guys play heads-up?

Are there any good links to write-ups on how to play a tourney when it gets down to 2 or 3 people left?

I'm tired of finishing second or third-- help!

What is your stack size when you get ITM ?
With such a high ITM finish but mostly 2nd/3rd place, you may be playing too tight on the bubble, making your way into the money with a shrt stack.
In limit it is much harder to overturn stack disavantage heads up then in no limit
