Default A couple of hands from today ($6.50)

Hand 1 - Opp was a 30/6 - a pretty passive player. Push over the preflop limp? On the flop, don't c-bet when the K comes? I'm beat once he calls my big flop bet, right? I hate folding to these donkbets!

    BB (t3575)
    UTG (t2540)
    MP (t2940)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8, 8.
1 fold, MP calls t200, 1 fold, Hero raises to t600, 1 fold, MP calls t400.

    Flop: (t1625) K, 3, 6 (2 players)
Hero bets t800, MP calls t800.

    Turn: (t3225) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets t400, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: t3625

Hand 2 - Opp was one of those no preflop raise players - 20/0. Push preflop? I felt I had to call his silly flop minbet but on the turn I'm sure he has the A, right? Again, I hate folding to these silly bets!

1st hand i dont raise from the SB there. Your situation is too tricky I don't know what advice to offer.
2nd hand:I play it like you.

    tip: raise 2.5x BB.

In hand 1, since there is already a limper I would raise more, he's not folding 400 into 1000 pot. I would make it 800 because he limped, then 1000 because I'm out of position. That's almost half your stack so you should probably push. But, I don't like racing this early...

What about limping, then pot is 600, you could fire a PSB on the flop. If Button calls c/f on turn. This way you loose 600 less.

Do you view the PF action as a value bet, or trying to take down the pot?

Pre-flop push probably isn't terrible, except you are dominating nothing that calls.

I dunno, seems to me, with play like this, good players are going to run you over. You can't just give up KK heads up to a quarter pot bet just because an Ace is on the board. Why not raise the flop?

The thing is that these guys aren't good players. For a tight passive 20/0 to come to life, call a 3x BB preflop raise and lead the flop (even if it is a minbet) into a PF raiser means that he likely has the A. I thought that if I just flat called his minbet, if he checked the turn I would probably push.

If I was going to raise the flop, any reasonable bet commits me so I may as well push (which maybe I should have done).

If the guy had been a LAgg 60/25 I would likely have pushed the flop.
