My line is the hand was played horribly from start to finish.
Calling with 52, out of position, with only 3 runners is awful IMO, regardless of the fact that you already had half a blind in. You then flop a draw to second weakest flush possible, bet it and are called. You then turn the tiny flush, bet it again, and are called, again. A card that might make a straight for 79 comes on the river, and you make another bet, which is raised. So he either has 79, QT or a broken flush draw. Besides that, this bet is saying "I have you dominated and you have been betting into me the whole time. Now I'm going to punish you". How much more info do you need to tell you that you are beat?
Add to that the fact that your bets got progressively smaller as the pot got bigger, effectively broadcasting how weak your hand was.
Regardless of the outcome, playing this sort of flush is going to cause you all sorts of trouble that you don't want.
Fold preflop. Level 1 of a tourny is not a time to be committing lots of chips on crappy holdings.
