    Default ICM. Ranges

    If you put someone on a certain range. How is the percentage of each hand happening calculated.

    Let's say you put someone on: AA-TT, AKs, AKo, AQs, AQo - and you enter this range into an ICM calculator. How does it calculate the probability of each thing happening?

    You might think that there is a 70% chance that he has AK or AQ. And a 20% chance that he has AA or KK. And a 10% chance that he has QQ, JJ or TT.

    How does the ICM calculator work?

    ICM calculator has nothing to do with hand ranges. I made a post about using ICM in the long JJ thread, you posted there so I would think you read it.
    JJ fold on the bubble

    Use pokerstove for the hand ranges, if you want to assign different likely hoods then split up your groups, run pokerstove then combine:

    hand range 1: 20% likely -> 35% to win
    hand range 2: 80% likely -> 55% to win
    .2*.35 + .8*.55

    There is no way that you can possibly estimate with that level of precision what your opponent has. The best that you can do is assign a range (eg. opp would push with 66+, ATs+, AJo+), you can't estimate what the probability of each hand is within that range.

    Yeah, plus trying to be THAT precise at micro-stakes is liable to give you brain ache.
