A rainbow flop with an Ace that nobody has represented by not raising pre-flop....

It's Salt 'n' Pepa time for me.

Are most of the people in here old enough to remember back that far?

That was the ancient 80's as my kids keep telling me.

    BTW: Push it real good

    yeah, push it real good.
The strong point in poker is never to lose your temper, either with those you are playing with or, more particularly, with the cards. There is no sympathy in poker. Always keep cool. If you lose your head you will lose all your chips.

    Push.

I think a push is unecessary. I know people like to semi-bluff all-in, but is it really worth it? Pot is 1200. Won't a bet of 1500 be as likely (or more likely) to take down the pot? If called, you may get a chance for a free turn card, and escape with half your chips when you miss, but likely double up when you hit. If I am wrong, does anyone have a clear reason for it?

I'm not pushing here! SMK101 ould easily have a weak ace and I'm not taking that chance. I'll rep the ace with an 800 bet here but that's all.

This one is kinda tough. My usual move is to semi-bluff here and I think everyone is short enough that you should just push. If you pot it and get called, and whiff, you will have to bet/call off the rest anyway. You certainly don't have the best hand on the flop, so maximize folding equity.

My fear is that any pair will call, and certainly any ace.

You need a read - why would button limp here when a raise wins blinds > 60% of the time? Will the SB call you with J8?
