Poor fold?

    Default Poor fold?

20 hands deep into the game.. villain has been pretty tight, he has only played 3 hands so far. What kind of hands would he limp behind a limper and then reraise me with? Only two were KK or AA, which I'm huge dogs to and can get myself into a ton of trouble IF I hit a flop, as he might have pulled a set on me. Discuss please, and tell me your line as well?

PokerStars Pot-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB ($34.65)
    UTG ($18.25)
    UTG+1 ($20.65)
    MP1 ($16.75)
    MP2 ($33.60)
    Hero ($80.75)
    Button ($41.85)
    SB ($20.45)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, K.
    2 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.75, 3 folds, MP1 calls $2.25, MP2 raises to $7.5, Hero folds, MP1 folds.

    Final Pot: $13.75

Good fold. OOP and most likely against AA or KK.

You're right. Hmmm..am I wrong to say I'd probably call with AKs in this spot?

Never, but explain why you'd call, and what you put him on.

    A) You can't put opp on a hand after 20 hands of play
    B) Calling and check/folding a missed flop is a good option
My sig is too much for you to handle.

After I talked to some other people, here are my thoughts (which they said).

He limped AFTER another limper. I am not limping aces nor kings after someone else, as there is only 4 people behind that will raise, making the chances much less likely that someone will raise, and aces and in a lot of trouble if this happens.

I am in the cutoff here, so my range could be quite large, since people are just limping and they know I'll have position on them IF I get called, so I could raise with a large range.

The suggested play would be to put him in for all his money, which I tend to agree with. I'm only a race against QQ or less and I'm in huge trouble vs KK and AA (but these are very unlikely due to what I said earlier).

He may have a weaker ace than me or some decent broadway cards and think I have nothing.

Does anyone agree with this line and villains line (and his play)???

High PP or AK that I'd only want to play against with position. Suited for better implied odds.

Easy fold, I mean what kind of hands limp here then reraise? Stupid do this with anything other than KK or AA

is it very common to limp aces after theres a limper in front? generally i thought the sterotype was open limping from ep.

You are not good enough here enough times to see a flop. Just fold. Even if your outs are good, they're probably in other people's hands.

Smart fold. But I would be so tempted to push and see him fold preflop.

Sklansky recomends limping after limpers sometimes w/ aa in nlt&p...maybe it will become the new cool thing to do.

It is a recommendation from TAP to do exactly this (on occasion). For exactly this reason too, nobody can put you on AA.
