Since IRC bickering and infighting was spilling over to the boards and the FTR admins had no real control over IRC, it decided to cut ties permenantly from it.

The thread would have maintained a way to create awareness of the chatroom that the admins felt reflected poorly on the boards.

I was never a part of IRC and am well over 18. Since Xianti put the smack down FTR is a much better place, IMO. I say good riddance to the petty drama and the crap that came along with it.

If there was anyone in the new flash-based chat room then I might hang out there too, but there's hardly anyone in there during the day (even in the evenings sometimes), while in IRC there's 20+ well over 90% of the time.

The interviews, question/answer sessions, and stuff like that in the flash chat room are pretty cool I guess, but that's about the only time it gets any use.
