    Default JJ UTG

Very Early (3rd hand I think) in a $10 SNG at stars. I'm looking for turn advice mostly. I smell a little pair trying to hit a set... or a little pair that iin fact hit one... until the turn check-behind, at least.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP3 (t1180)
    CO (t1480)
    Button (t1470)
    SB (t1480)
    BB (t1500)
    Hero (t1500)
    UTG+1 (t1420)
    MP1 (t1500)
    MP2 (t1970)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J, J.
    Hero raises to t80, 3 folds, MP3 calls t80, 4 folds.

    Flop: (t190) K, 8, 3 (2 players)
    Hero bets t100, MP3 calls t100.

    Turn: (t390) 4 (2 players)
    Hero checks, MP3 checks.

    River: (t390) 7 (2 players)
    [color=#CC3333]Hero ????????

I like the check on the turn. If he had a K he would have bet out with it. With his check behind I think he either has a made hand or is on a flush draw, has something like 7's, 9's or 10's, or maybe a K with a weak kicker.

As for the river, this early in the tourney I would probably put out a bet of around 100 and fold to any raise.

I like making a blocking bet here of 100. With this action, JJ is probably the best hand but I don't want to be calling a big bet to find out.

Are you talking about on the turn or river?

I would check and call his busted flush draw bet of > $300 on the river.

I think your hand is good about 90 percent of the time here but you are unlikely to make any money betting.

    I bet the turn.
He could be on a flush draw, or A8 and you dont want to give him a free card, and if he bets the turn you get vey little info, since you showed weakness.
I think I bet the river too if he calls the turn bet

I would follow this line a little later in the tourney(when the blinds are bigger), but generally play tighter and more str8 up this early
