PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB (t1465)
    UTG (t4720)
    MP1 (t715)
    Hero (t1505)
    CO (t2060)
    Button (t1340)
    SB (t1695)

    Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J, J.
    1 fold, MP1 raises to t120, Hero ???

Villian seems decent, as I've seen him showdown relatively strong hands in the past. He lost his chips getting drawn out on.

    What's your move here?

I think if you had 2-300 more i'd go for isolation, but as played, he is showing some strength by raising OoP. I call and take a flop, hope for a set or low cards.

isn't that what mp1 wants though? so he can lead out the flop regardless of what shows up.

Well, assuming this is a coinflip, an A,K,or Q will hit the board a little less than half the time.

He's obviously not panicking yet so you have to believe that he has a decent hand. IF anything you can probably tighten up his calling range because of his stack size and position.

I would call here and proceed accordingly (with caution) on the flop.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

decent opponent hand range for a raise in MP:
    AA-99, AK, AQ, AJ.
I think u need to reraise here a bit, probaby by 180 or so. This accomplishes 2 things:
    1. discourage people behind you from calling with marginal holdings
    2. Define your hand vs this opponent

i agree, but hes gettin odds to call by only raising it 180 more. It may make him slow down a little though if he has a pocket pair with overs on the board or his hand misses.
