    villain most likely has an overpair to the board. I assume you thought villains bet was a c-bet, and wanted to try and take the pot down right then. I like to flat call in situations like this and re-evaluate the turn.

    Actually villain had a set, not trips but....

    You played it fine. It is 6 handed. AJs is a big hand (in fact I probably would have raised in a battle of a blinds here).

    As played the continuation bet could be anything, your raise on that flop is fine and when he comes over the top you now have odds to call with just your flush draw (even if your over cards are not outs). There are lots and lots of hands like these, that just sort of play themselves.

    i would have reraised preflop unless i knew for a fact he has a tight raising range. everything else is fine i think

    I would raise more or even push flop, he might fold something like 88.
