right, but this will allow me to just focus on building everything right now, since i will have a pretty good defense built up. my main goal is to get cavalry as quick as possible for raiding.

No, other people will have cavalry long before you do. Their resources are already upgraded a lot more than yours are because you overspent to get the swordsmen during the protection phase when you should have been focusing on resources. Also, they'll be getting even more resources from raiding with spearmen while you're just getting resources from your own village. In a few days they'll have so many more resources than you that you'll fall pretty far behind in getting cavalry. I really think you should reconsider your strategy.

getting swordsman does not cost all that much. i have 12/12/9 in resources, so i highly doubt theyre much ahead of me.

i just did some calculations, and with 5 swordsman and a wall of 3, i can defend against 45 spearman. With 5 spearman and a wall of 3 i can only defend against 25 spearman. I think thats worth the extra 60 resources per unit. I only need about 10 or so more swordsman and i dont have to worry about being plundered and cant go full force on resources and getting axeman to help support my spearman for attacks.

yes, i raided an abandoned village and im raiding 2 more currently to see if the score continues to be as measly. But at the cost of 1 spearmen each pop, it helps with the experience atleast.

you need to raid with more spearman. each spearman can only care 25 of a single resource.

i just sent a dozen spearmen to attack an abandoned village. we don't expect any losses.


but they're gonna be gone for a while.

yah, its hit or miss.

Raiding 3 abandoned villages took like many hrs to raid the furthest away (which isnt really that far on the map) and net about 1 man down on each attack (sending 10 each)

One time, my men came back fully loaded. the other two they came back with next to nothing.

hmm idont have any defenses yet, but I think my points are enough to scare people off. People cant scout me yet. I honestly am not positive when my beginner protection ends, does anyone know how to find out?

I dont know when I joined, is that date listed somewhere? Also Maybe we shouldnt become recruiting whores, just stick to who we have and add ftr people if they wanna join. A tribe too big will become unmanagable, and there are too many people to protect.

My wood/clay/iron are at 14/14/11 now and I'm getting ready to upgrade wood and clay to level 15. That'll be done at 1:30, so I should I have a barracks by about 3:00. I wanted to upgrade my resources this high so I could train spearmen continuously for the rest of the day while still saving some resources for other things like a wall.

continent 55 569/533. Does anyone know if abandoned village troops stay alive? I am considering plundering this village but I don't want to run into a wall of resistance by attacking this village. Big red and Elekrideth are also nearby. If anyone has a scout or could scout it with six spearmen or so this would be greatly appreciated.

im probably the best candidate to go rogue since im not close to any tribal allies. So i could probably benefit most from jumping into another clan.

its not a bad idea, but this early in the game it wont matter too much. some of those tribes are probly pretty hard to get into as well.

Nice idea but its not like another tribe couldn't find this thread if they did a tad of digging. The FTR logo is in our tribal header.
