    Default Late in a Freeroll. Tourney noob advice

    It's a freeroll, but down to about 500/2000 left and nearly all of the players sitting out have been blinded out.

    What do you do here? (Fold preflop? Getting 7:1 for a call from the SB was tempting...).

    It's on Noble, so I figured the best way to show the HH was with a screenshot, so...

    Given there is a FD you don't want to chase for too many chips. Here, unless you have a read that BB is very tight (which doesn't seem likely in freeroll) I think you're OK to take one card off and see if you can catch since you should get paid by a Q.

    I actually folded because of my tainted draw.

    But if I had stayed in--

    Turn was

    If you're still in--
    Do you push (pot would have been 3600 if I called the flop, a 1/2 pot bet would have been ~40% of my remaining stack)?

    I never know how concerned I should be about flushes. In my very limited MTT tourney play, it seems that flushes in the middle/late stages don't get chased as much. I don't know if that's just because the better players are left and they either don't play for flushes as much or if they just know how to price the flush draws out (easier to do once the blinds get big). Would you have any fold equity against a baby flush (I'm thinking any flush would call here, but I don't have the experience to back that up).

    you'll almost never fold the baby flush, you are correct.

    You want to show down cheap on the 3h. You're check calling small bets. Hopefully, he'll toss another min bet out. If he happens to be drawing, you just have to let it happen.

    Part of what makes the flop call OK is even if the FD is out, you still have a decent amount of outs:

    Board: 6h 7h Qc
    Dead:

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 19.3939 % 19.39% 00.00% { 5d4c }
    Hand 2: 80.6061 % 80.61% 00.00% { QhTh }
    not a good price, but again you figure to make some money on later streets if you turn off a 3c.

    And you may be in much better shape

    Board: 6h 7h Qc
    Dead:

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 27.4747 % 27.47% 00.00% { 5d4c }
    Hand 2: 72.5253 % 72.53% 00.00% { KhTh }
    So calling here just based on your pot odds is fine, even without counting the hearts as outs (and they may be). Folding is OK too, this isn't a spot where you are making a huge mistake either way.

    Calling, THEN going broke when the heart hits is what you want to avoid.
