I played the micro-stakes on both sites and, IMHO, PokerRoom players are totally appalling. Stars isn't much better, but it is marginally so.

To be perfectly honest, the boom in online poker (in the last two years in particular) just means that virtually every site is the same in terms of quality. The bigger sites have more players, but the ratio of good, improving, poor and piss-poor is the same across the board. The bigger sites (Party, Stars, Pacific etc) just have a wider pool of players that could end up at your table.

You (and others) have probably noticed yourself that you sit at an occasional $5 game and find it surprisingly good quality, yet you can sit at a $20 game and spend the first 20 minutes wondering if any of the players have even played before.
