Default A couple of HU hands ($6.50 turbo/$11 speed)

Hand 1 - Second hand HU. Opp had been a bit all over the place, but was 42/12 overall. How is this line? Should I have just pushed preflop? I was actually hoping to get a preflop pushover (he had done this once before in a SB/BB confrontation).

    Hero (t6560)
    BB (t6940)

Preflop: Hero is in Button with A K
Hero raises to t1800, BB calls t1200

    Flop: (t3700) 5 4 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t4710 (All-in)

Hand 2 - Opp had pushed over with Q2o, QJo, K3s so it was very likely that I was a 60/40 favourite here. Call?

Hand 1: I would either limp and hope he shoves, if he doesn't, I check/fold the flop. If I'm not limp-trapping, then I would just shove in the first place. I would like your line with a big pair, but not AK. Even if you shove and he folds, it still gives you the chiplead.

Hand 2: I wouldn't want to call off all my chips with A2o. Yeah, you might be ahead, but you can be way behind too easily. You're not giving up the chiplead if you fold (assuming my math is correct), so give this one up and just shove the next hand, no matter what.

Pushing preflop is fine hand 1 ... your stack is less than 7xpot

Hand 2, a call is horrible unless opponent is pushing over half his hands. If opponent is playing any A, any 2 broadway, any pair, you are a 60/40 underdog. Even if you throw in any K and any Q, you are still a slight underdog. The problem is that although you will be a 60/40 favorite against many of his hands, all the hands that are favorites against you are sure to be in his range. If you know for sure that hands as bad as Q2o are in his range, you are technically correct to call by chip EV. But do you really like tiny edges?
