Disrespected at the APL
(APL is a free tourney held in bars for fun)
Mid/late in tourney. 100/200 blinds, you have about 2500. In BB you catch Q8s. Six people at the table, and LeFou raises to 600 from LP.
Now if I'm you instead of LeFou, I think:
-LeFou plays pretty tight; only showed down two or three hands so far and all were solid.
-Q8s sucks headup.
-My M is still >8; I can wait
-etc.
But since you're you and I'm not, you think:
-I'll just reraise all in.
Sorry if todays' posts are born of frustration. Yes the guy caught his flush, beating my ATs, but I don't want to talk about that.
This is basically a steal attempt by you, and as such is not horrible. I damn near folded the better hand, in fact. But is this attempt worth it when there are 4 other players at table who are Decidedly Not Solid?
I like to go for steals like this, too... but generally only versus limpers, or if versus a raise I need the raiser to be a mediocre or bad player. Should I lower my standards?
