Hand 1 - You have less than 8 BB's. You should have pushed or folded pre-flop.

    Also, two things ...

    1. never min-raise. ever.
    2. never bet less on the flop than you did pre-flop. It screams of weakness. It basically announces that you have a hand that missed the flop but you feel obliged to bet it.

Hand 2 - push over his raise and make this HU. You offered superb odds to the BB to call. He has to call 45 chips into a 1530 pot. He can call with any two. If you push, not only does he then have to call far more chips, it's also a far bigger % of his stack and also, he has to figure you for a big hand.

I was gonna post, but then I read Staresy's post and it woulda just been the same thing so instead I just made this post with no content saying Staresy already covered everything. He even bolded the word never and I think I would have done that too.

    Yep, Staresy nailed it.

Perhaps the only time I would ever minraise is when blinds are big, I've flopped the nuts (ie. something like a FH or quads) and opp leads out on the flop.

Avoid rigidity. Thinking in absolute terms will result in missed opportunities.

why not push preflop? Those stack sizes are crazy for a 7-handed table. everyone sitting there with between 5 and 8 BB?! How does something like that even happen? Esp in a MTT where people should be getting shuffled.
