i got a bit lost playing this hand, have a feeling i had a great opportunity to raise and isolate on either flop or turn. i overbet on the river hoping someone had flushed.

    any suggestions would be great.

I don't like the turn call.
First thought was: This is a nothing pot why chase a gutshot with a pair on board? Part of a gutshot, as 7d does you no good. Fold it or raise it.
Second thought, however, was: either the bettor really did stumble into that five (or a set is trapping), or you're way ahead of him (no one's likely to be paired>6). When way ahead or way behind, just go for overcalls. As you did here. But you felt "lost" so ... that's why you called.

I'm calling that turn bet and pretending it is a check.

Too bad he didn't have anything on the river, oh well.
