if you wanted to call here, you should have checked river. Only bet the river as a blocking bet planning to fold now. It is a big price here but I really think you're beat 90%+.

The MTT forum doesn't seem to get too much discussion so I'll just go ahead and post results as it was the reason I posted this hand.

This was only a $11 tourney so I mean aren't most players here going to call? I didn't really think a minbluff by him made sense. So did I get owned or did I play bad by folding when I had great odds to call?

Played pretty weird by him. River bet is bad though, no worse hand is going to call you. Bet less as a blocking bet or check and reevaluate if he bets. As played, fold. An immediate call on the flop is pretty indicative of a draw, and that's a draw heavy flop. The 2 most likely draws gets there on the turn (spades and T9), probably the worst card in the deck for you. I think he shows down the flush or another strong hand most of the time.

This might be a little results oriented, but its hard to play this hand well and not get bluffed out by this Opp because he obviously decided he wanted to bluff you out of this pot. Dangerous board, lots of strong hands he could have and your holding is pretty mediocre. If you check he would have bet strong, if you put a blocking bet you would have gotten raised, even when you bet strong you got raised.

I think it's a good fold by you. After seeing his hole cards don't be results oriented. Make a note on him and trap him next time. The min raise at the end is fairly weak, but I think that it takes more than one pair to call him on that board. He showed weakness by calling your flop bet, checking the turn and then min raising the river. His line seems weird and some would look him up. BTW - KQ UTG is marginal and a tough hand to play when oop.

the point you should take away is the river bet is bad. His play is bad or golden depending on what level you're both thinking on.

You are a huge dog on on the river if your bet is called. Add in the fact that you must fold to a raise, even if min raised, and the bet is much worse. He may have only charged 1k to see his hand, instead you paid 700 NOT to see.

Bet/fold on the turn would have made more sense. If you had a set, you could check and hope to fill on river. Without one, you may as well keep betting rather than give a free card to something like AsJx, and then you can fold to a raise.
