    limp.

fold seems OK after that. you're OOP and flop will often suck.

I agree with the limp. I would call a small raise especially if others call. If the flop looks good I'm play'n. If not fold.

    I agree with the limp
Why do you guys like the limp in this situation?

I tend to raise here usually and this is my reasoning (feel free to tell me how flawed it may be):

a 4-5x raise in this situation will likely eliminate Ax- and most pp below 77, I know i would have a hard time playing those hands after that action. So who sticks around? 77+ AQ (depending on position),and AK. Also in the tourneys i play it amazes me how many people call this bet with Ax suited. So I'm ahead of alot of hands pf. if I only get one caller and an ace falls on the flop i will usually fire out a cbet representing AK, of course any ace will usually call me at that point, but more often than not it seems that cbet takes the pot which leads me to believe that I'm getting called with 77-JJ and the ace scares them off. more than one caller and i proceed with caution. The limp just seems like it's asking for trouble. I do limp with TT on occaision but more often than not I'm raising.
Would you guys characterize these statements as simply a difference of opinion/style or a leak?

I limp because I want this guy to raise to 200 instead of 500 with his big PP/AK so we get a shot at his stack. It's also much easier. Even if our best case scenario - all folds, UTG calls, you are still guessing on the flop without a set. Given his most likely hands are PPs lower than TT, how much money do you want to put in on a 9 7 5 flop? KQ3 two suited?

If you get called behind and by UTG the fun really starts.

You CAN play this hand for a raise, but you will have to work hard to convince me dealing with all that is better than limping. In a short stacked tourney don't get a lot of spots to spend 40-160 to make 3k.

Do you recommend limping only if you're not opening the pot? This one didn't turn out too good.

I limp TT and below in EP early on. Take advantage of the deep stacks and play for a set. I don't like the raise because I won't be able to play against KK/AA after the flop if I hit a set (because they raise me out before the flop) and being OOP with middle pair or a weak overpair in a big pot sucks. You played both hands fine.

I think in most cases, without a read I call in that second hand. Although u might be up against a set or 2 pair, I think it is very likely u r racing against a draw. With the dead money in that pot, I'll take the 50/50 there.

    I have to agree.

Similar hand happened to me the other day where I was last to act early in the tourney with 1010 and the board was low. I had two players go all in before me and I called their all in. They both had Ax and their x hit the flop. They didn't have a pair and a draw which would makes a little sense. Sometimes you just run into donkeys and that's why you have to pay attention and play some hands with these guys early in the tourney.

I play TT about the same there. I want a read to call. Without kirkyX5 in the hand it is closer. Here you are slight fave or you are drawing super thin.

If I limp a PP I am very rarely going broke with it, unless I flop a draw as well.

Villain was out of the bb so I figured 2pair was very likely. Hands like this is exactly why I don't like limping TT.
