#1 - Not sure if he had the straight or not but look like a good fold to me.

#2 - I definitely think villian has the flush >> good laydown.
    LETS GO CLIPPERS!!
  3. #3
Hand 1 - you are worried about TT/77 here I presume?

Hand 2 - hate having to let it go, but you're right - too much beats you there.

Hand 1: reads? without reads, gf. however, i think they are really important here.

Hand 2: For some reason I really want to throw a bet in on the turn... By checking behind, villain's betting range on the river is much wider. Also, if we're being picky, raise the flop to $30-$32?

    I re-raise both hands pre-flop

Good laydown in #1. He really likes his hand, could be TT.

#2 Why not bet the turn? If he calls with a flush, you can stack him if the board pairs. Good fold on river.

Here were my thoughts about not betting the turn. First of all, no reads in either of these hands.

The weak lead then call is very commonly a draw. The turn completed nearly all plausible draws. Theres no reason to put money in if I am only called when behind and whats worse I think he was going for a check raise with two pair or better 90% of the time on the turn, and so betting the turn risks getting raised off my hand. When the river made matters even worse it was a clear fold.

    is my thinking flawed here?

Nope, well played. I agree that minbet/call is common for a draw. If you are feeling villian is looking to c/r then any good sized bet would be a spew.

However, what about a small turn bet to see where you are? If villain is a poor player, he might just min-raise you, and you stack him when board pairs on the turn. If he raises AI huge then you just fold. If he just calls, then you can look to show down cheap if unimproved on the river. He could have somethign like AT or JT, and there are a ton of scare cards on the river (spade/Q/A).

I see your point in #2, but I bet this turn, probably a little more than 1/2 the pot, fold to a raise. If I hit my outs, I want a big pot.
