    Default Question on MTT's

My question is does an MTTer want to try as much as possible to put his chips in while he is way ahead and not just ahead?
Example from an MTT: I am in the big blind with AJs against a guy who keeps raising 3 x BB with a 20BB stack. The blinds are very high. I have a 31BB stack. Guy raises on the BU as usual to 3xBB. BU is tilting so there is a good chance (he did it to another guy) that If I raise him he will put it all in.
In this situation do I want to raise and risk putting all my chips in when I'm most likely ahead? Or do I want to see a flop out of position and take the afer route?

Similar question: Would you rather be all in preflop with AK against a loose raiser or see a flop for 1/5th of your stack OOP? How bout in position?

If you are good at post flop play I say see a flop, if they are loose aggressive their raising hands requirements are weaker than they seem.

If you are holding AK you probably have the best hand, now the question should be if you try to get it all in preflop will he call his stack off with his weaker holdings?

    I say post flop

Regarding your first question, about just ahead or 'waaaaay ahead', for me personally it depends on the stage of the tournament and your style. At the start my motto is really: 'get chips or go home', any edge is an edge.

There was a good article linked to another post, basically it reinforced this idea that go for any edge. The example given was:

first hand of the tournament you get QQ everyone has folded, the guy to your left pushes all in, but accidently shows AK. Do you call knowing your ahead about 53-47%, or fold and wait for another better spot? Basically the article supported the idea that you should call in this spot.

If anyone could link the article I think it would be tres beneficial.

I know that article and while I generally agree with it, like phil helmuth said, sometimes you have take the road less travel in order to survive, so in that situation I dunno if would make the call there.

Id rather accumlate my chips through post flop play than putting it all in pre flop and let luck or chance take a stab at it
