5/5 NL Live... villain is mxiu.

Default 5/5 NL Live... villain is mxiu.

I want to look at this hand played from my opponent's perspective.

Villain is mxiu, and has been reading a magazine and folding for the past 2 orbits or so, and finally put it down when he was dealt a hand UTG. mxiu is labelled as a standard TAG if you've been paying attention. Hero has been doing very well, quintupling his buy-in from $300-$1500 within a fairly short time. Only hand that hero has been in with mxiu is the first one that mxiu 3-bet preflop, and hero pushed all-in with TT, and mxiu called. Board came KJT93, mxiu told hero that QQ was good, saw opponent's hand, and still couldn't beat TTT either.

mxiu has about $850~ and Hero covers.

Hero is dealt As Kc in CO.

Villain (mxiu) raises to 30. MP3 calls, Hero calls, SB calls.

Flop: Ad Ks 2c (Pot: $125)

SB checks, Villain bets 70, MP3 folds, Hero calls, SB folds.

    Turn: 3h (Pot: $365)

Villain bets 120, Hero raises to 240, Villain raises to 720 and is all-in. Hero...?

umm...hero calls, is this a serious thread?

Yea pretty easy call. If villain has the cooler AA or KK then we just muck and continue.

Also: Maybe raise preflop or on the flop. Played pretty week.

What sort of range do you put villain on? How many hands can be played out like this that AK can beat?

You're prolly chopping or losing, very rarely are you really ahead here, but the chance he has AK is very high where the chance he has AA or KK is relatively small, I hate calling to chop but I might have to here, givin that you're getting half decent pot odds... interesting hand, cause assuming both players are good, I could find a fold with AK... but tough hand.

Raise flop to 170 and then get it all in from there.

I also agree with raising the flop with Heros holdings, but as played, how could hero ignore leading for 2 streets, then a 3-bet all-in?

Call and spike an ace to hit boat over boat against him.

You obviously see where I'm coming from. Is there room to fold though?

Depending on the player a2 and a3 are not out of the realm of possibility.

this is funny - This is an auto call for everyone here? But in the Fnord thread people are saying "fold, he might have Aces full of kings to beat our Kings full" - We have 2 pair and it's nice, but how many times do we read 'don't stack off with 2 pair' - In the other hand example, mxiu could have had AK and still lost - How many times are we in a hand with a big hand and a 1 card straight is up there? Plenty - And a set is a strong hand - so i don't think that means mxiu is a bad player -

So who's to say the Propable comparibility doesn't let us know we might be behind?

The "Don't stack off with 2 pair" line is only for low limit nits. This isn't the low limit forum.

that seems kinda silly - I will usually go all in/call all in with 2 pair at low limits because players there overvalue 1 pair hands - big time -

What Im trying to get at is do we think that mxiu is doing this with AQ or below?

my opinion is we should call - If he flopped a set of kings or aces, would he lead out for that much? Dueces I could see him leading out that much because nobody would put him on that hand and the A & K on board is likely to hit someones hand...I would call, im just saying it is more possible that we are beat here where everyone is saying call, but in the otehr hand everyone is ready to get away from Kings full because of our range we put villain on -

Let's assume Hero is ahead 10% of the time, 40% split and 50% behind, that's ~30% equity. 480/1700=~28%. Call.

Okay, I think I got what wanted out of the thread... for the results oriented,

    Hero calls, mxiu shows KK.

Never read any stickies or announcements
    Hero should raise everywhere.

On the end, we can find a fold against some players but default should be to call. Saying otherwise is just being results oriented, imo.

    mxiu,

While in live play you might be nittish enough to lay this down, we've played online and you're loose/aggro enough in those games, I can pay you off here and not feel too bad about it.
