Default Some HH From Tonights Home Poker Game

In this game it started with 7 people. Second place gets there money back and first gets the rest. Everyone gets 50 chips and the blinds are .5/1. As far as I know nobody that plays in these games ever goes on here or reads any poker books. Some of these stats may not be exactly right but they are all close enough. I am still a beginner so constructive critacism only please.

    Hand one.

SB had been pretty agressive, making stupid plays, but getting luck and catching good cards.

    Hero ($40)
    SB ($295)
    BB ($15)

Preflop: Hero is Button with .
Hero calls, SB raises to 3, BB folds, hero calls.

    Flop: ($7) (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets 4, Hero goes all-in.

    Results in white

Hero had one pair of 8s.
BB caught a Q on the river for Q with A kicker.

Is that type of play +EV, but maybe -$EV? Thoughts on this hand? Maybe shouldn't have called the pre-flop bet, but he must have been raising with air alot because he seemed he was raising atleats half the time.

    Hand 2.

Heads up against a pretty good player. He is known to make money playing cash and tournys at a local bar. Blinds are $1/2.

    Hero ($29)
    BB($71)

Preflop: Hero is Button with .
Hero raises to $6, BB calls.

    Flop: ($12) (2 players)
    BB checks, Hero goes all-in.

    Results in White

Hero has two pair As and Js.
    BB has trip Js.

Thoughts? Only getting called by hands that beat me? Never really seen him c/r so I though I might be good here. Probably shouln't have over bet the pot so much, or raised more preflop.

    Hand 3.
Heads up, but a differnt person. He seems to be a bit tighter then the previous guy, and not as smart. Blinds at .5/1

    Hero ($37.5)
    SB($62.5)

Preflop: Hero is BB with .
    SB Raises it to 3.
    Hero raises all-in.

    Results in White

Hero hits an 8 for a pair.
    BB had AKo.

Thoughts? Again, only getting called by hands that beat me, as this guy is a bit tighter then the other? Risking too much to win a small pot?

I am no expert either, but why are you going all in with not the best hand? Are you doing it to try and push him off the pot. because it is what it seams like to me.

in hand 2: going all in is a horrible mistake. cause if he has a better hand such as a J or any Ax higher then yours he will call and take you out. which is exactly what happened. now if he does not have the best hand, then let him make mistakes and put more money in the pot, not just fold to your all in. If he has the best hand, not going all in keeps you alive in the game.

hand 3: I do not know what the blinds are, but you have half the pot he does, why go all in when he already raised you with a mediocre hand and you already told us he is a tight player? what did you put him on when he raised? a small pair: means you are already at a disadvantage. a large pair, a definite disadvantage, AK, AQ, AJ, AT, A9, definte disadvantage. the only time I see you in the clear would have the better hand is KQ, KJ, KT, or a small suited connector. seams like a pretty bad bet now doesn't it?

See if you can get them to play a cash game.

If you can get them confortable with the stakes, it's better because getting knocked out sucks.

    Hand 1: Nicely played

Hand 2: Push is horrible. This board gets no action from anything you're ahead of

Hand 3: Play postflop much with 37xBB? Pushing preflop makes no sense with any hand, unless you know the opponent will gamble against your AA or KK with something like JQs.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
