SB calls my pot sized raise on the flop and checks on turn.

Default SB calls my pot sized raise on the flop and checks on turn.

$10 sng. My play has been tight but aggressive. Have won a few pots by being prepared to raise. Have tried to use my position where possible.

SB likes to slow play and hammer hard if he gets a flop. Fairly tight player.

If your read on the SB is fairly accurate (tight player) then his range of hands should be pretty small. He could have a monster like AA, KK (not likely though because you have a K also) or QQ. If he likes to hammer hard on flops that hit I would have expected a re-raise on the flop with one of those holdings.

He does, however have something or he would, most likely have folded on the flop and it could be something as troubling as AJ.

The other negative with this hand is that you are going up against the chip leader.

Again, with the read that you have I think I would be content to check this down and if he bet big on the river would most likely let it go and wait for a better spot to go up against the chip leader.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

i personally dont like your pf minraise - make it at least 3x to go.

as played, i dont really like the overbet on the flop, but as played, try and check it down, hope hes got JTs

Well, your "read" above states that he likes to slowplay, and then hammer hard if he hits a flop. I usually read slowplay to mean that they make a move on the turn. This is a very very dry board, and you have TP2K. The turn pairing is a very good card for you (in terms of putting people on hand ranges).

    Here's your options:
    1) Conventional wisdom says you should check behind here on a dry board and a massive cold call by bigstack. There's only 2 cards (Q or A) that could come that create problems on the river.

    2) Value bet the turn. It's an $11 SNG, these guys don't know what they are doing. Bigstack could be trying to figure out how to play 99 or JT. Also, you've already committed 700 chips, or 33% of your chips. You have 4th place in chips (barely).

    Final analysis:
I generally follow line 1. There's only a total of 5 hands that are really scary that we're worried about (1-JJ, 1-55, and 3-33). AJ would more likely check-raise, so we are WA/WB.

Bruinblue, can I question your post?

You didn't like my min raise pf. It was 4 x BB (BB was $50, I raised $200). Were you looking at the tourney heading?

Also I bet the pot on the flop, the reason being at this level you need to discourage loose players and 1/2 to 2/3rds only gets called and you end up with posting in the bad beat section!

Thank you to Gator and Scuba, interesting feedback and advice.
