    Default Playing A-rag s

In what siuation do you play A2-7 suited and what size raise do you call with them?

This is a situation that confuses me, because if an ace does come on the flop, I'm worried that I am out kicked, especially after a raise. Sorry for not posting a hand, but this is more of a general question.

Also A90 and AT0 also confuse me. What kinds of situations should I play these in?

edit: sorry i know this Q isd way to general, I'll try to get an example of when I was stumjped in the past.

It is a general question, better to post a specific hand to get advice. It depends on so many factors, such as position, stack sizes (relative to blinds), reads, etc. that it is hard to make generalisations.

Play Axs early in a tournament when you have noticed lots of people are liping and there are few raises, and even then don't play in EP. If you get to LP and everyone has folded you can and should raise with an ace, though while the blinds are small you don't need to take too many risks like this.

The other obvious answer is when the table is shorthanded.

    Don't play them at all..

If your new to the game muck them,

I play them from the buttom and the blinds but thats it.

As you said you will get into way tooo much trouble if you don't know what your doing after the flop.

    As for A9o muck it.

As for A 10o Forget early position, Raise or limp it late.

I was in the habit of playing too many Ax hands and it killed my BR.

I find that when I am running bad or losing more than usual I always find that I am playing these way too often again.

As a beginer stick to the basics and stay out of trouble, leave yourself with easy desicisons.
Why is it a penny for your thoughts but
you have to put your 2 cents in??

One more thought. ( as I said, I had simular problem )

Best advise I've heard regarding when you do play them is to....

Remember why you played them in the first place.

For the flush and not the pair.

You even need to be warry of flopping 2 pair cause guys do love to play

A rag at all levels. Nothing worst than getting into a war and being out kicked in a hand you should have let go.

Players probably lose more money on Axs than any other hands.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

A2-7s - I dont play at a full table unless I am in the SB and I can see the flop for 1/2 price with some limpers
On short handed table you can play them more, but even on a 5-6 player table I will usually not play them other then to blind steal from LP.

A9,AT on a full table - the only conditions I play them is from mid-late position when it is folded to me - then I sometime raise - more often then not you either pick up the blind or pick up the pot with a c-bet
