Due to excessive bad beats, part of which I think are caused by my over aggressive nature post flop, I have changed my strategy a little bit and want to get some feedback as to whether it's a good/bad idea.

I mainly play the $15+$1.50 buy ins, 6 player SnG's at Pacific. The blinds there go up every 15 hands. Three places pay out, and even third nets you a very small profit. You start with 800 chips, and the first BB is 20, second is 30 and third is 50. Obviously my strategy is flexible and I am not sticking to it rigidly.

First fifteen hands, regardless of my position, I only play AA, KK, AKs, QQ, JJ, AK and AQs. If I hit any of these hands I will raise quite aggressively, except for JJ, AK and AQs which I will raise medium (e.g. 60 bet) from an early position. My reason for playing this tight is because a) it enables me to suss out the players I am playing against and b) because there are a lot of fish it's quite common to lose at least one player in the first fifteen hands.

Depending on the table, depends on how I play the next fifteen hands. If the table is tight, I'll loosen up a bit. If the table is loose I'll stick with my tight play but as players drop out will increase my PF starting hand range. Discipline is the key because it's hard to not even call the BB with AJos when I'm UTG!

Once the BB is 50 I sometimes have no choice but to start playing a lot more aggressively, especially if there are still 5 players left, and if I haven't hit good cards or a bit of fortune in the first 30 hands I am often short stacked at this stage, or certainly a long way off of the leader. I don't panic though, but if I only have 5x the BB in chips and hit a very good hand I tend to push all in.

Due a perceive increase in the amount of slowplaying going on, I also no longer bet on middle pairs until I am down into the last three (four if the table image is tight). I also don't slowplay at all now, and when I do hit what I think is the best hand will bet the pot or over it unless it's on the river and I have the nuts. I am sure this will change again over time but right now I have been beaten by so many suckouts that I just don't dare risk it.

Do you think this is a good strategy or not? If not, then I'd be very grateful for any advice.

Also I'd like to thank those who hae already given me advice and would like to say this forum is a goldmine of good information! I've already learned alot, e.g. much better now at playing As rags!
