So I'm still playing cash games for 0.1/0.2c, my style is tight but hopefully aggressive... So say I raise with AQ and get a couple of callers. Flop is Q 9 3 rainbow, I bet and usually they fold. Sometimes I can get called down so I will bet every street so long as I think I'm ahead. But sometimes I run into 2 pair and because the players are passive and don't raise me I can't see how to tell that I am beat. For example I raised in EP with AK and get 3 callers(!) Flop is A 9 5 with 2 spades. I bet the pot and get 2 callers. Turn is a 2 but not a spade so I bet half the pot and get 2 calls again. River is a 4 still no spade. I make a small bet which both call, one mucks but the other shows A9 and wins with 2 pair. Is there anyway to see this coming? If I slow down on the turn I'm letting people draw out on me cheap. Do I just accept that these beats will happen and are compensated for by the times people call me down with lower kicker/ lower pair etc? In the above example would a flop of K 9 5 actually be better for me even though I probably get less action?

Yeah I hate when that happens to me too. Seriously, those people are dumb not to reraise, in my opinion. I don't think them having two pair will drain you as much as when you have top pair, higher kicker like you said. You could maybe check call the river?

Just bet when you think you're ahead. Seriously, players at those stakes are too stupid. I've had people call every street with AA (not even raise preflop), I've even had someone call me on the river with the nuts. More often than not your AQ will beat their A9. Just accept these beats and keep playing.

Yep, this is how a calling station works.
They are very loose passive players.
I like to take notes on these players. They just keep calling with 2 pair, middle pair, low pair , whatever. When they raise it usually means run!!!!
Also with the hand above you have to look at "The Fear Factor" . Possible st8 on the river, alot of people are so conservative, that they are scared u are holding a 3 in this spot. So instead of raiseing this person just calls incase you have the st8. Just something else to think about.

Yeah, I hate that too. They'll wind up giving it back in the long run. Take notes on the player and when you have the nuts or nearly the nuts take advantage of your "calling station" read. Make sure you don't overbet so you can get all your money back and then some.

Classic example today....guy raises in EP in a STT...I call with a-q, other guy calls with 10-8 suited. Flop comes 10-8-q and I bet 3/4 pot every street except the river where he checked too. He took it with two pair but on the flop there wasn't even a flush draw and then by the river there was 3 suited from the turn and the river. I asked him "no reraise" and he said he was worried about the flush and i just put lol. If he would have reraised I would have maybe folded. Milked me for half of the 1000 I started with. This also goes along with the ppl who bet .25 on the .10/.25 nl tables with top pair and you don't catch anything or you have middle/bottom pair. Kinda sucks.
