I dislike your small raise from UTG with KJ more....

I dont mind the cbet with checks to you however....that turn bet really makes me want to raise his draw out of the water, but it is not out of the question to fold....

yuck...IDK...you both got deep stacks, I'd probably just give up here as you did after reluctantly taking my finger off the raise button.

Villain will call an all-in on the turn with his AK - it's a ridiculous "value" bet, I'd put money on it. The utg small raise is one of the worst things I've ever seen in poker, and as for repping the ace against pre-flop re-raiser who check the flop - ugh.

Right sometimes ill play outside the box. To throw them off guard.

PS thats why I put him on midpair but as you said I may be making some plays too complicated for .25.

Ok , so I think there are a lot of innaccurate responses in this post. I'm going to try to clear them up. First of all, raising JK UTG 5 handed to a little more than 3xBB is completely fine. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this. You likely have good equity and position here. Often you isolate a blind or take it down preflop.

When you get reraised preflop however, You gotta think KJ is way behind. At this point you have odds to see a flop and hit two pair or better, or run away quickly. I've been known to fold this before the flop though, since my hand doesn't have very good implied odds to go along with the pot odds. learn to fold to respectful opponents who don't destack easily postflop in this kind of spot.

Ok, so you don't believe villain has an ace when it flops. The point you're missing is that KK and QQ will often destack anyway, because people at this level can't release high pockets.

From the HH's you post, I have to honestly say that my opinion of your overall game is lukewarm. You're disproportionately aggressive against loose opponents on bad boards for you. Stop trying to rip down every pot sir. It's somewhat of a circus.

I HATE THIS HAND. YOU HAD AT LEAST 3 CHANCES TO SAVE MONEY.

Totally missing the point. Don't take my rant as harsh. I would like to see you succeed. You have a postflop problem, not necessarily a preflop one. You can play a wide range if that's your style, but at this level you have to make a hand and bet it hard. I'm not saying there isn't fold equity to be had without a hand, but it has to be clearly defined.

Fold equity at this level would be putting the opponent on second pair when a straight and a flush show up in position on the river, and when the opponent checks to you in a built pot you push hard.

Yahtzee! Doesn't mean you can't play 68s in position to a raise if you like spewing tiny chunks preflop. God knows I do it.
