No, they really do give you money!
For instance: you deposit $100, they give you %100 bonus of $100. You now have $200 to play with. Make the wagering requirements and hopefully at the end of it you have more than $200. But even if you have more than $100, you're still ahead of the game.
It's free money, so long as you have the discipline to bet small, bet the same amount whether you are winning or losing, and cash out very soon after the WR is completed.
