Min. raise UTG no good! Gotta pop it at least 3x the BB here, preferably a bit more since there's a good sized ante in play. After that, just a bad beat.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

villain was in the big blind and put you on something two overcards like AT+. He thought he was the only one that hit the flop, and because of your overbets, I assume he was thinking you were trying to by the pot and stood his ground. A lot of the time, I make the same call, and end up stacking people who have hands like AKs. They overplay there hands assuming they should win. Unfortunately you the goods, but got beat.

Yesterday very late stages of a tourney, I was out in 11th, I was dealt K9 in the big blind. The flop came AK9, and I was all set to stack him. I slowed played the hand, building the pot and the next two cards that came were 77. He had the ace, and therefor a higher two pair, had I jamed the pot, he probably still would have called cause he had AJ, and I would have lost.

The main point is, that when we slow play we open ourselves up to bad beats. The hope is that we play our hand weak inducing a call from the second best hand, but almost always the second best hand still has a chance of sucking out. From his point of view he would have seen a weak bet, hit second best pair on a ragged flop, and saw your overbet. He figured you were buying the pot and smoth called. When you went all in, I'm sure he calculated his odds to be any 5, any 6, any 7, and possibly any spade. He also thought there was probably a good chance he was ahead, and that you were chasing the flush with the As and two overs tryign to buy the pot.

Raise more preflop (with blinds of 300/600 and a stack of 10k I'd usually raise around 2000, but might raise anywhere between 1500 to 2400 depending on table conditions and table image).

    Cry postflop.

Yeah, raise more preflop, then shove the flop.

    Default RAISE MORE !

I had a very tight table image and had won 2 or 3 hands recently with the nuts.

I bet the min amount as a CHANGE to my betting patterns as I had 3x/4x and 5x bet previously with, like I said, very good hands.

In my post analysis he did have a billion outs on the river and to be fair he did flop a very good textured flop for his hand. The 8 on the turn only strengthened or improved his hand while mine did not improve. He also could have been on a flush draw and I could have folded.

Your individual comments are bang on, and I really appreciate them.

    Default UTG

Maybe mistakenly, I am under the impression that a raise from UTG is to be given respect, especially from a tight player. And usually "should mean" AA/KK AK QQ, at least thats what I do when some raises UTG min or otherwise.
I think by only min raise I gave him odds to call (maybe) as he only had to put 700 to win 2800 or 4/1, still a stretch in my opinion but harrington does like connectors down to 4/5 so I guess it was OK.

Not everybody plays by the book and that's how you can make money. Don't get fancy with a middle pp like JJ UTG. Raise it to at least 3xbb. 700 to win 2800 is not much of a stretch. Those are good odds right there and almost acceptable to call with any two.

You'd be surprised how many players don't give a shit where you're raising from or what kind of hands you're showing down. I do give a shit, so I got stacked hard last night deep in a MTT

Tight UTG player min raised, and I called with AQ suited in MP. Flop came out A66 and we got it in by the turn. Turns out he minraised A6o UTG.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

    Sadly this is very true.

Minraise looked weak, vil thought he was ahead, got lucky on the river. Solution: raise more PF.
