Default a really tough bubble beat to take

I'm looking for tips or a slap in the face to tell me how to play this better. It was a fast and loose game, down to 4 players and the blinds only at 25/50. And of couse, I was the short stack.

The Tournament Trimmer (v0.7.6) was developed by JeffreyGB at http://www.FlopTurnRiver.com.

    ---Statistics---

Again I qualify all of this by saying I don't play $33s so these comments are as much for my benefit as anybody else's!

Looks pretty good overall, you got unlucky at a really bad time with that QQ vs AT hand, perhaps some general comments are:
    - I like the way you shoved your way back from a super short stack but as I commented in the actual hand, once you've got a decent stack back you need to switch gears out of desperation mode.
    - When blinds get to 50/100 I would make my steal raises 250-275 rather than 300 and at 75/150 I would make them 400 rather than 450. Just keeps the pot and any subsequent c-bets a little smaller and you lose a little less if you're pushed over preflop and have to fold.
    - I wasn't there to judge the table dynamics, but if this table is as weak/tight on the bubble as the tourney you posted a few days ago I wouldn't hold back on the steal raises, particularly with semi-decent hands in the SB and on the button.

    Specific hands:

    3. QQ - I make it 120-150 to go from the BB. I'd rather be HU with one opp on the flop is possible. On the flop, not sure how $33 opps play but at the $11s you will see A-rag here very often, I would check and bet the turn if it is checked around.

    5. K6 in the BB - I would check the flop with middle pair this early.

    [8d 7d] BU (M=16.87; f+F) - Potential steal raise with these SCs?

    8. 55 flops a set - I would actually bet a little more on the flop to make it look like a c-bet, trying to get opp to attack it. I would probably bet 300-350 here. EDIT: With your awkward stack size I would have probably folded this PF from UTG.

[3d Qd] SB (M=18.87; f+f+F) - Steal raise here? Is read dependent on BB

[8h Kd] BU (M=18.53; f+F) - Steal raise here? If I had stolen the previous hand I wouldn't here though.

    13. Q7s flush draw on turn - I would fold, I don't think you're getting odds to call this. Maybe you are if you add in some implied odds but at this stage of the tourney I think stack preservation is more important.

    14. A7o in the SB - I think completing is OK, if I think opps have limped monsters previously (eg. if they've been open raising and suddenly they limp) I can find a fold too.

    [Ah 8s] UTG (M=16.87; F) - Steal raise here?

    17. QQ - tough beat. I know it is only a 70/30 so in the grand scheme of things it isn't that bad, but why does this always have to happen on the bubble?

[Td 7d] BU (M=2.27; f+F) - I would shove this. Ran it through SNGPT and it is +EV at all calling ranges. It's sometimes hard to do though, I'm the master of missing any two card shoves when super shortstacked.

    22. 98o in the BB - maybe I'm being results oriented, but I would c/f after opp calls your flop bet. You would still have >9x BB left if you fold. If you had like 500-600 behind on the flop I would just open push the flop but when you've got 1440 behind on the turn it's not worth taking the risk here.

I often have a problem switching gears back to playing more conservatively when I've pushed my way back from being super shortstacked to having a decent stack, I think that might have happened here.

    FlyngSaucy,
Your post-flop play is your major leak.
Here's how I would have played:

    Hand 9
    Bet on the river !!!

    Hand 13
Bet the flop !!! At least 1/2 pot size bet.

    Hand 14
    Raise !!!

    Hand 17
You committed suicide here. No way I would go all-in here !!! I would raise 3X BB. You have a healthy M.

    Hand 18 to 21
    Nice come back

    Hand 22
    Fold on the Turn

I think you misread the HH. He did raise 3x BB and got pushed over. Would you really fold QQ to a push here?

Hero is sandwiched between two opponents. According to the HH up to Hand 12, the players are playing very tight and passive. I don't think that anyone of them have a K, and you have at least one pair. Therefore, they would be trying to outdraw you. If you get raised on the flop, you can fold. Otherwise, you win the pot.

I still think I'd rather take a stab on the turn if it is checked around on the flop and the first player to act checks again. I don't understand the comment about "at least one pair". Hero has Q7s and the flop came KK4 with only one of his suit, opps could very well have a pocket pair above 4s or be slowplaying a K.

Well, it was late at night, I was watching a poker tournament on TV and my thoughts got confused. It is a matter of style. I was more thinking in the line to bet with bottom pair in this situation or try to semi-bluff because the opponents were very tight. This would be a good spot to semi-bluff. If you get raised, then you can fold. I would tried to steal the pot on the flop.

That is a good point. I need to work on this.

It is quite the opposite of the weak tight game. Instead of me being the big stack being able to easily steal, this time I am the short stack against 3 players that are all apt to steal. My steal opportunities scared the crap out of me - these guys were playing pretty effectively together against me. And particularly some of the trimmed histories that I folded revealed some weak playing on the part of rcanelle and dusty bottle.

I agree with your 120 comment against that loose EP limper. I think my flop c-bet is a safe one however. To me it's worth investing the 1/2 pot bet against 2 opps because I don't want to reveal to them that I'm playing scared when the A hits. You might be right though I can see it either way. If called I have to shut down - because they either have the A or are on a flush draw. Which makes me think - should my cbet be larger?

Is that because of the raise and reraise that came after my bet?

My only concern is that these guys were raising a lot of hands (which trimmed history doesn't show) and I was hoping to have one of them bust the other since they were playing it pretty loose against each other. Not to mention my M is still 17.

I have a hard time folding any pocket pair preflop when it's 4 handed, since being UTG is virtually the same as being on the button. And I've got M<10, so I've got to pick battles. It is worth thinking about, I'm just not sure that folding this and letting the blinds come around again is wise for me. Should I have just pushed it pre?

Leak city. You're right there. I think my intent was to play "fancy" on him and bet strong on the river if checked to. The problem is that from what I've seen dusty is a fish and I should never have considered this. dusty's playing this hand exactly how a fish would play Kx. I'm just glad he led out the river.

Actually I think this was weak. I don't think xfactor was stupid enough to limp the monster at this table. I should have either folded or raised. The trouble with raising is that it gets me in trouble post flop if called because I feel compelled to cbet almost any flop oop.

So apparently I was wrong earlier about xfactor not limping the monster, although he wasn't utg this time. I think I had the first part of the turn correct by checking, but I should have respected the flop call and folded to the turn bet instead of pushing. Not to mention the push is giving him better than 2:1 to call, which he'd probably do with overs or 2 clubs anyway.

That seems ridiculous to me. I'm totally open to explanation though. Sure the turn checks might indicate that no one has paired the flop, but who's to say that haven't hit the river? Is J high really worth betting here against 2 opps, both of whom invested money pre?
