Default mixing it up, different sites?

not sure which board to post this on, but i'd like a lot sng players to see this..so here its, im having a preetttty bad run right now, prob one of the worst i've had...tryin to stay off tilt and get through this, but it's been a little while now. I moved down a limit just to keep my br healthy and me off tilt, but if this keeps going im thinking about mixing it up a bit. Maybe play at a different site? Not becuase I think pokerstars is rigged and blablabla, but just to get a feel for somethin different, might work, might not. I think it might be worth a try though. What do you all think I should do? and what other sites do u like, or play at for sng's.

RJG, I'm not entirely sure what you think is wrong with his post...he's not trying to recruit for a specific site - just asking about what else he could take a look at.

Boomr, depending on what type/stakes you play at Stars, you might take a look at Party Poker, Ultimate Bet, or Full Tilt.

I honestly have no experience with FT SnGs, but I know they offer a decent range of them.

The UB game has a slightly slower structure. Also, I think players as a whole tighten up a bit at lower levels than they do on Stars (a UB 11 plays like a Stars 33 in my opinion...though there's not a huge difference between the 11s and 33s on Stars). The downside of playing at UB is that they rarely have anything above a 22 fill up with reasonable speed [note: dated info...haven't tried playing them since I left the 55s, but a year ago you couldn't get much action above 22s].

Party SnGs run the full spread of stakes. The structure is probably closer to a Stars turbo than the regular speed Stars games. I never liked that fast a structure, so I can't comment much beyond that.
    I run a training site...

agree with Jeff. I mostly quit SNGs but my wife still looks at UB on occasion and they are dead at 50+ levels. Try party and see if you like it, I still think stars is the best for SNGs, you can start earning your new porsche.

    Default yea..

yeah...this is kinda what i figured, which is why im really not sure on switching. I dont like party's structure really, i haven't played there yet since they moved they had the lower amount of chips, now i think its 3,000 i could be wrong though...not sure if the blind structure changed either. As for UB and FT, i'd probably be leaning more to UB since i know a little more about the site, but in my opp. stars will prob always be the best....tough to leave though, looks like im just gonna have to wait this whole downswing out.

I play on party. Its more expensive there than at stars and i'm not convinced by their rng. PP does not have a tested rng as i'm aware but i think stars does. I may be paranoid but ive had more than one friend quit party because of two or three bad beats of the KK v AA variety in one day.

I'm waiting till ive doubled my bank roll then im moving to stars.

Ginger, I know you're a mathematician but please please please don't believe the conspiracy theories about the RNG at PP not being random. Do you think a company that can make $400m++ a year (I know, I own shares in them!) would take the risk of getting found out and losing their business overnight? You of all people should know that AA loses to KK about 18% of the time and that it's not even nearly statistically impossible that this happens three times in a day.

Also, you're playing the $5+1s on PP, right? That rake is murder, I would move your roll over to Stars right away and play $5.50s. The games are just as soft and the 10% rake difference will add 10% to your ROI immediately (plus if you took advantage of the deposit b0nus they are actually only $5.14s).

Go ahead and switch. I change sites on occasion when I run bad on one. It's just a psychological thing for me. The change of pace and new sceneary help clear my head.
TheXianti: (Triptanes) why are you not a thinking person?

If you want to try another site, you definitly should go for Full Tilt. They have the best software out there (graphs, options etc..) in my opinion. Also don't think for a second the play at FT is much tougher at the 5$ or 10$, its filled with fish.

Nice deposit bonus, nice refer a friend bonus (pm me:P) and when u get bored u can also watch some real pros..
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

AA can lose to KK 18% of the time. That is not the remarkable thing here. Its that AA and KK appear on the same board three times in a day.

These numbers are really rough cos i havn't got time to work it out but.
Probability of getting AA =1/216 (i think, this is just from memory)
so probability that AA is out there = 10/216.
Probability that KK is out there = 10/216 also by the same argument.
Probability that both are out there is about 10/216x9/216.
(i said this was rough, that of course is not precise but its in my head)

    =90/46656 = 0.001929
ie 0.2% chance of happening and that is just the odds of any two people holding these hands. Clearly prob of you having one and the other is out there is 9/46656 ie about 0.02% chance.

This happening 3 times in one day AND losing all three is VERY unlikely.

All that said such a company would not risk it as you say. I am just curious about the quality of their RNG. Having studied RNGs it is very possible that something which looks random has patterns within it. (if you dont believe me then read about the randu generator, IBMs gold standard for years until it was proved useless). One of those patterns or glitches could conceivably mean that pps are more likely to come out together. I wonder why it is that the RNG on stars is acredited and the one on pp is not. (or at least if it is, then either its not advertised as being so or I have missed it).

I must say that i don't take bad beats to heart and that even if it was totally rigged (which i don't believe it is), that doesnt mean that good players won't win there more often than not. If i lose i don't get upset with PP, its not healthy.

I don't know whether or not i believe in the conspiracy theories. I don't think that if there is a problem with the rng that PP would have deliberatly made it that way. (too much to lose). But the cheaper buy in and the acreditation of the rng are enough for me to switch to stars.
