Okay, what do you guys think of this hand... He was 23/9, preflop raising range is at least JJ+, AQ+, so take JJ out of your range. He has been relatively tight, hasn't been passive, he's bet with hands, no slowplay stuff, but hasn't shown a bluff.

I think he satellited into this.

Nice win, I was watching and you were putting a lot of pressure on those guys. They were calling you down with a lot of trash.
  14. #14
yeah i satellited in, it only cost me $15 bucks.
My roll is now at 5k, but im cashing 3k out because i'm staying at my old BR. I do a mix of 50 and 100NL.

wait is that a compliment or a criticism?

I was proud of the way i played. I made some great reads. But i see what your saying (at least, i think i do). My image was terrible. I kind of pussyed out when they would call me on the flop sometimes.

I was suprised at how bad the players were. I swear this was a $10 3 table SNG.

It was pretty hilarious how straight forward my opponent headsup was! i was laughing at how many times i'd raise him, make a standard cont bet, see him fold. He'd over bet when he had a hand. he'd bet smallish when he was weak. It was always the case.

Thanks for watching and supporting me. Can you elaborate on anything you saw that could improve my game?

Yea, I was complimenting you. I liked how you were constantly raising them when you had a decent stack. I think that they really didn't believe that you had hands at times and were calling you down. Like the AK hand. Not sure what villain had but it was pretty bad. I think you took most of his stack and he was left with 5k or something. All in all, your play looked good to me.

Fucking excellent. Seeing this kind of thread makes the rest of us realise that with just a bit of luck we can do wonderful things to our roll. Now, maybe I should start playing MTTs...

p.s. when playing MTT satellites and finishing in the money, MAKE SURE YOU CAN PLAY IN THE FUCKING TOURNEY YOU WON A TICKE TO. Idiot Biondino.

Just a suggestion, but you might want to consider keeping at least some of it in your BR. I wasn't able to make the push into playing higher stakes, and I know many other people are in the same boat, until I made a decent score from playing MTTs.

Unless you need the money for other things, I would keep it all in your roll.

You can now play 100NL with no worries, can take cracks at 200NL if you feel up to it, can play some higher stakes MTTs, etc. As long as you don't do what I normally do and play otside my roll, a bigger roll should just help you get through those horrible downswings which are inevitable.

Yeah, got to back that up. I've missed a satellite and also entry into a winner's tournament in the last couple of weeks

    Bad chard! Bad chard!

Play stakes you can beat. If you inherit a million dollars you don't go sit down with Ivey and Harman.

I agree that a little extra bankroll is fun and you should try the 100NL games, but you can't play it "with no worries" until you know your realistic winrate.

    PS: congrats, skins.

He's already doing a mix of 50 and 100 NL. I think with a 5k roll he can play 100NL with no worries for quite a while.

The extra roll gives you a chance to see if you can beat higher stakes. I wouldn't be playing $55 SnGs right now if I hadn't won my MTT, but I now know that for me, they are beatable.

I don't think 2K is enough to play 100NL comfortably when you're not used to 100NL. If I were you I'd leave that money in your bankroll.

It's not like an all-or-nothing. You can take out like just 1.5k or 2k and both build you bankroll AND take out a nice cash bonus for yourself.
