QQ in the BB ($33 FO)

Results 1 to 16 of 16

Default QQ in the BB ($33 FO)

What made this fold difficult for me was the fact that he opened with a 4bb raise. If someone were sitting on KK+ and had it folded to him, wouldn't he raise to 80 or something instead to try to get action?

I'm fine with my fold, wanted to see if anyone has an opinion. No reads, actually got to the tourney 10 min late.

We both know the sound advice. Its early yet QQ is foldable, u still have a big stack size compared to the blinds.

Yeah courtie, I fold QQ because you are probably better than everyone else at the table and I don't want to gamble on being dominated early on.
By the way... I thought I'd flatter you by mentioning I think your really cute, which I assume will be flamed by every other guy member here.

iowaskinsfan i hearby flame you. who gives ppl compliments like O YER CUTE anyway?! Either go for it all or dont go at all!

I think this is usually QQ+ but is sometimes 88-JJ AQs+

I don't think this is the latter enough to warrant putting all your chips in the pot here... but damn I suck at folding QQ preflop

    Edit:
This may not make any sense in practice what so ever, but if you min raise him back I think raise = KK or AA, Call = You have him beat but now he has pot odds, Fold = duh.

So this may be highly not by the book but could you possibly min raise back and try and play with 500 chips if he re-raises? (if he calls id be pushing any flop...)

Yep, probably a good fold, assuming the villains in a $33 are competent. You're basically hoping to see JJ or maybe TT if you get it all in. You'll probably almost never see AK or AQ in this spot. I'd say you're behind here quite a bit.
There's three types of people in the world...those who can count, and those who can't.

phantaroth, 4 betting this pf is pretty terrible, you have small stacks in mtts and you can't play round like that just for information.

Out of the ordinary preflop raises (only if it's just 1bb more or less) sometimes indicate big hands. It's a nice tell to remember.

    Love me for a season
obv this is one of those times when you really need a read on the table texture. I've played donkaments where this literally could be anything.

Minus info i play it the same.

I agree with ISF about the cuteness. You're the one on the left, right?

I agree - it's the lil' re-raise that scares the bejesus out of me.
