Default JJ preflop 5-way raise or push?

    $75/$150 Blinds No Limit Hold'em
    Tournament #12596371 $5 + $0.5 - Table #1 (Real Money)
    Seat 6 is the button
Should I just raise this to 3xBB or push it? Nobody has been pushing preflop, just raising 2-4xBB. I had raised 3xBB 2 hands earlier and won the blinds, but I hadn't played a hand for about ten hands before that.

Nobody at the table is overly aggressive.

Total number of players : 5
    Seat 3: Hero ( $2295 )
    Seat 5: Teluma ( $2187 )
    Seat 6: Urzuz ( $790 )
    Seat 7: TheLoon2 ( $935 )
    Seat 8: APete ( $1793 )
    TheLoon2 posts small blind [$75].
    APete posts big blind [$150].
    ** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ Jd Js ]
    Hero raises [$450].
    Teluma calls [$450].
    Urzuz folds.
    TheLoon2 folds.
    APete folds.

This is fine. Why do you want to push?

Were the standard raises generally getting called, or not?

As with the other thread about jacks OOP, I feel you want as few cards to come out as possible, and might try a push if table was loose. Seats and stacks change things quite a bit, though.

It'd be awesome to push and get a desperation call from a 3-digit stack. You also have the power to hurt the other 2 big stacks, so they'd likely get out of your way.

If table is tight and generally folding to the standard raise, that's the thing to do.

Yeah I just went back and checked and they were generally folding to a standard raise, so I guess I did the right thing. I did something really stupid after the flop though, probably cause I was tired and a little on tilt after coming OOTM about the last five tourneys. Anyway I went all-in when an ace flopped when in hindsight I'm thinking I should've maybe bet about 300 or so and folded to raise. I was originally going to bet half the pot, but I thought if I was going to bet a third of my stack I may as well go all-in which was kind of stupid considering the only thing he could call me with was an ace or a set, which he wouldn't be folding.

So how much should I have bet on the flop?

the pot is 900. you could bet around 500

Well the pot is actually 1125, but anyway what about a 1/3 pot bet of about 400? He surely couldn't call that without an ace could he? It's just that anything more than that and I'll start feeling commited. What do you think?
