    Default Playing AQ Late

Ok, so I've been knocked out of two major events over the weekend with AQ. One was the $100 buy in 25K 6-max on tilt friday night. 20 people were left, and I pushed preflop into a raise, only to find he had AK. GG me. The other was yesterday in the $200 Full Tilt main event. Again, I pushed preflop with 8000 chips at the 250/500 level when a preflop raiser built the pot to over 2000. This time he had AA.

Am I to just fold this trouble hand preflop? I mean I was doing well in both events. 10th place in 25K, and average stack with 350 left in the main event. I feel like I play great poker for a long time, and then a seemingly elementary push spot turns into GG me.

Anyone else get frequently porked by AQ?
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I got porked in the $33+3 w/ $50k added on crypto yesterday with AQ vs AK. That tournament turns into a push fest with about 150 people left (top 60 paid)
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Easy fix, don't push. Seriously though, if you are in a spot where you need to double-up then I don't think that you can fold. If you are able to smooth call and see a flop without being pot committed then do that. Otherwise, I think that you have to get your chips in.

I agree. In the main event I had just over 6M, so I guess pushing was my only option. In both cases, if the cards were switched, I think villain still calls and I win. GG variance. I've been hitting the money in every other one of these, but never cashing big. I'm starting to get really annoyed. I mean I slaughtered an $8 sattellitte to qualify for the main event, so making the money would have been huge (top 127 get at least $300).

    Post some HH's and reads?

Hands like AQ/99 are very context specific in tourneys.
