thinking about starting to play 6 seat max MTT's normally play 10 Seat, same average amount of entrants ( 100 - 200 ) blinds raise every 12 minutes, any tips on how to adjust my stratagie to play this type of tourney?

Others with more experience playing six max can give more insight than me, but I would assume that you would have to play a few more hands. Since the blinds hit you faster and there are fewer seats, your starting hand requirements should be a little wider. Being UTG isn't as restrictive and hands like KQ for instance can be played a little stronger there. | |

I used to play strictly cash 6max, and pretty regular 6max shootouts; I like to play a lot more hands than I would in full ring, more calling more raising more betting pot sizes. I.E., my most profitable play is raising preflop then betting 3/4 on the flop. Not only does it take the hand down there the majority of the time due to the lack of times your opponent will hit the flop, it sets people up for when you switch gears and hit a monster. Be careful not to get roped yourself, know when to change your style. If you can get a stack at the table you are at, then you will be able to lean on others and bust your way to the FT. |
