Operation 9 buy ins.

    Default Operation 9 buy ins.

As mentioned in this previous post http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...313&highlight= I only have 9 buy ins at the $5.50's. (I actually said 10 but all the $0.50's make it 9 buy ins lol).

I will be able to refill my bankroll at the end of the month so Im gonna have fun with this and see if I can somehow build my bankroll back up to a decent level. If not I'll just have to wait until the end of the month, during which time I can study the game more. So it's a win win situation lol

I'll be playing only 9 seater $5.50's on PS and may use a buy-in to play a 180 seater $4.40, I'll wait and see.

I have had a bit of a break from playing (bout 2 weeks) and have been mostly reading and studying the game (I think I've taken a lot from the recent Experiment done on here!). Am going to totally focus on every game and hopefully hit my target by the end of next week... (we'll see!! lol)

I'll set my target at 20 buy ins - $110.00
(I'll clear my bonus of $50.00 shortly on PS but wont include this in my target)

I'll post my results and may post whole tourney HH's as new topics but related to this operation.

wish me luck... Lookin' forward to this!!

This would be an excellent idea.

I would also stay away from the 180-man. You would essentially be throwing away 10% of your BR. Play a 45-man if you want to experiment, still not a great idea but you'd have a much better chance of cashing.

    Thanks for the replies...

Yeah i'll only be playing one table at a time...

I'll prob stay away from the 180 and may just do a 45 or i'll maybe just stick to 9 seaters...i'll keep you posted.

The 45 player PS $1+0.20s are VERY soft and if you can place 4th or better will make a nice addition to your bankroll with very little downside. Hard way to grind up though...

I only started with $50 on PP about 4 weeks ago. (thats 6 buy ins.) Got pretty scary with only 2 dollars left at one point but somehow a couple of wins in a row saved me from bust.

    Good luck and keep going!

    played reasonably well...

final hand my J-Q suited got beat from 9-10 suited. 9 on turn. guy who put me out was in love with min raises and min raised every time he raised. had showndown rubbish holdings and he had been lucky to get to CL.

    on we go!!

I reckon you should be fine. I started with 10 buys in at William Hill and played the £1 +0.20 tables until I improved enough and made enough money to step up. Got close to going broke a few times and took about 100 games until I was consistently in ITM and making a profit.

I've now moved to PS and have been playing mix of turbos and normal speeds at $5. Only played about 7 games so far, so not really valid stats, but have been hitting ROI of like 70% so far. If I can do it you can and i've found the advice on FTR has improved my play immeasurably, except when i've been drinking...

    Thanks...

As I said if I go broke i'll be able to refill end of the month but hopefully I wont have to do that.

played 3 games so far and finished ITM twice... both 3rd but its an ok start.

This site has improved my game immensly since I started reading and posting. Its definately +EV reading the forums.

    4th SnG of Operation.

    Place - 5th
    return - nil

was doing well. bout 2nd/3rd in chips most of tourney. tried to steal one too many blinds ad gfot reraised a couple of times when blinds were 100/200.

had an M of around 6. had A-K, went all-in got called by Q-Q. Queens hold up. ah well.

Taking a break as I feel im not fully concentrating on the whole game. will coninue either later today or tomorrow.

    played - 4
    ITM - 2
    buy ins left - 8.5

I think the "implied odds" for bankroll building are better at the 45 man (5 table) SNGs than at the 9 man.
Any of the math guys care to show us why? (or why not?)
    (I'm NOT a math guy...)

Maybe if you're playing with a proper bankroll. I had 2x 10 game OTM streak at the $1.20 while learning. That's his entire BR. Not recommended.

Like I've said I'm just having fun with this... I'll be able to refill my bankroll if necessary at the end of October so its no big deal if I do go "broke". Just wanted to see if I was able to build it back up again!

    Not doing to good...

    Played 8 games.
    Finished ITM - 3 (all 3rd place)

went out 4th in last game. was 4 handed and my Aces got cracked from A-Q. hit a straight on the turn!! what can ya do?

    Game before that finished 6th.
Q-Q got beat from 9-9, was all-in pre flop. hit trips on the flop.

I think I've been playing ok, maybe one or 2 pots im maybe being to aggressive post flop.

Gotta get a win in shortly...

    Altogether im down $17.00

Definately take a break or your play will suffer
I'd leave it a day or so.

Any more hand histories than the first sng

I'll be happy to take a look

Did you post another HH then delete it? I was going to have a look through, post it again if you would like some feedback.

No only posted the first game in a different thread.

Gonna leave playing today then start tomorrow again.

Might limit myself to 4 games a day.
    I'll post a few more HH's later.

    cheers

    update:

Just played a $13.00 6 seater. Knew If I done well it would help with the operation and decided to use my winnings from my 2nd place to enter it.I've done well in these in the past and usually finish ITM. I placed 1st and this has really boosted my bankroll.

Anyway heres the stats for operation so far.

    Played - 15
    Finished ITM - 7
    Finish ITM% - 47%
    Avg ROI% - 111%
    Bubble out % - 20%

    1st places - 2
    2nd places - 1
    3rd places - 4
    4th places - 3
    5th places - 1
    6th places - 2
    7th places - 1
    8th places - 1

    Net earn - $28.80
    bankroll - $79.69
    Started with - $50.87
    buy ins at $5.50's - 14.4

Won't be playing anymore $13 6-seater. gonna stick to $5.50's.

How do you calculate your stats, just manually?

I'm currently doing a similar thing - moving up to $10 Turbo tables and monitoring my performances.

My stats after 15 (All $11 6 man, top 2 paid)

    P - 15
    ITM - 10

    1st - 8
    2nd - 2
    3rd - 1
    4th - 2
    5th - 1
    6th - 1

    Buy-Ins - $165
    Returns - $372
    Profit/Loss - + $207

I'm just using pen and paper just now to track my results, does anyone know a better way? (I have a primitive spreadsheet but that's all)

Also, how many results give an accurate reflection of whether or not I should continue at this level or drop back down?

I used the Bankroll Management spreadhseet. it calculates it for you.

You'll get it in the "tools of poker" section.
