You played it perfectly; the problem is when you play at such low stakes with the blinds moving fast everybody has to gamble, u got unlucky, but you couldnt have played it much better then u did.

    Preflop is fine.

Flop bet is horrible. What are you trying to achieve by betting 40 into a 320 pot? I would lead here for about 200 or so.

As played, I think I would probably call. But this is really just a bad beat post.

It was quite early into the t and i didn't have any good reads on ppl..........but yes reading over the HH i should have bet way more into the pot from the beginning............i was hoping to trap someone but ended up getting spanked.

If you really wanted to trap you would have been better off with a check/raise. A bet of only 40 into a pot that big is only inviting everyone else into the pot.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

Trapping is best when the villain has shown aggression preflop. Sometimes they will donk their whole stack off to you. It's hard to say if a minimum raise constitutes aggression without reads, whether you're playing a $1.25 or a $215. Since there are four people in the pot and one of them was a preflop raiser, you should probably check this flop. Chances are someone will bet, and you can raise and hopefully isolate that person. Then, with a strong hand like a set of nines, you can generally stack them, especially at low limits like this.
There's three types of people in the world...those who can count, and those who can't.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice with this.........as i said in the first post i still consider myself a newbie and i have a lot to learn yet....sorry Da Goat but sarcasm doesn't help ppl learn when they've come right out and admited they are new and learning.....but hey at least i have a lot of good advice from others to work with.

    Thanks again.

I don't like a check raise at all. Why not lead into the preflop raiser since there is a good chance of a reraise? By checkraising we are giving him a chance to get away cheaper.
