Stategy in a single add on tournament

Hi,

I played in a B&M MTT today (about 50 players), it was $40 for $1500 chips, with the option to make a single $40 add on for another $1500 in chips. With that structure, should you always make the addon, and if so, when (start, end of first hour, etc.). Also, would what the other players do (e.g., no one adds on at the start, or everyone does) influence your decision?

I would always add on right away. More chips = g00t

Get it right away, even if no one else does. Extra chips are great.
