What newbies should know

    Default What newbies should know

    This isn't the best forum.

I searched for 2+2 and got NO results.

The 2+2 forums are where a new person should be.

And their software section is REAL!!!

Poker Tracker may be essential, but it's just not enough.

Not that guys won't give you good advice on how to improve your play, but they sure won't help you to do ALL the things you really should be doing, like buildng that darn database.

if you need advice on how to datamine, how to use AHK scripts , table mods ...just ask and im sure plenty of posters here will be very helpful

2+2 software section is great because of Jukofyork , SamIam , and other posters who make awesome AHK scripts for free ...

    they are both good forums.

either will teach you enough so you can win substantially without having to datamine.

and datamining is not for beginners anyway

Nancy, how do most of the 2+2 regulars react to newcomer posts? You know, simple questions about how to play rockets and pot odds, that kind of thing?

Still reckon it's a better place for noobs? Thought not.

    This place rocks!!

2+2, there are just too many people posting different things. Now I read them and form my own opinion, but when I first started it is quite confusing for me.

Maybe 2+2 works for others, but I started here and I'm having success. Just my 2 cents

I have much more faith in the good players here - not only in content but in purpose.

    Bwahahahahahahhahaha!!!

You honestly think the flaming, dick wagging, arrogance, condescension and poor attitudes that are so rampant on 2+2 create a better environment for a BEGINNER? Is this a joke?

The fact that a 2+2 member would go to another forum and make comments such as this just typifies the type of poor behavior that is so common over there.

2+2 obvioulsy is a much larger forum and better overall resource. For a beginning player though, FTR is a place where they can get good advice largely without all the other bullshit.

this community is just the right size. 2p2 is too big, and a lot of mean spirits.

the look of ftr and the phpbb2 forum software is a delight.

I think I'm sorta proof that FTR is pretty good. When I started playing online poker I didn't even know the rules properly, but I found FTR quickly and been winning ever since. Never read a book or other websites like 2+2. If I ever make it to higher stakes like 100NL+ I do intend to pay 2+2 a visit and read those harrington books I got from unibet that are still in the package.

Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject. So you know you are getting the best possible information.

2+2 reminds me of a bunch of hall monitors what with their fancy PT databases and data-mining. The beginner's bible is pretty much....FLOP SETS & GET PAID!
