    Default TPTK on blank board

Reads: Nuke seemed relatively decent as a player. He was the table-coach, telling other people how bad their play was.

Dont you just hate this type ?

    Regarding the hand
    Preflop and flop are standard.

I assume you slowed down on the turn since you figured a set is a possible hand, and with no draws possible you dont mind giving a free card.

Villian's river bet can be either a set betting for value, mid PP (66-JJ, excluding 88) that believe they are ahead, or Ax who called your presumed c-bet on the flop and interperts your turn check as a sign of weakness.

Your play makes a lot of sense but I think I would still bet 300 on the turn, if I am called I am checking the river if checked to me, and probably folding to any real bet, if he comes over the top on the turn I fold.

The fact that he was 'table captain' is useful, they tend to fall into a very streotypical of 'correct but unimaginative play'. I dont see him coming over the top of a turn bet with anything less then a set on this board

Your analysis is pretty correct. I figured I was either way ahead or way behind, and a free card wouldn't hurt much. I also figured that by checking, I allow him to bluff with hands I beat which he wouldn't call an extra bet with. I lose the same amount the times I'm beat, but potentially win more the times I win.

Being in position is really nice in a spot like this, it's when you're OOP it sucks. Thinking about it, I'm curious ... would you have bet or check the turn if your flop bet was called, Jeffrey?

I like the way this hand was played, I think it's a good way to have a show down and lose as little as possible when you're beat. It does make me ask this question: what is the largest bet you call on the river?

I likely play check/call both the turn and the river. The river becomes a bit more questionable, because his range for bluffing is vastly decreased.

I probably call any bet. The larger the bet, the less likely I am behind, I think (as most hands that beat me are going to want action of some sort). If I specifically knew my opp to overbet the nuts, then I'd make an exception, obvioiusly, but in general, I doubt I'm folding much there.

This should be a standard line vs. a decent player. Only bet the turn if there's a lot of Kx in his range.

I like c/c turn oop, but I'd b/f the river. Middle pairs might call but won't bet.
