    Default unfortunate cashout!!

Due to unforseen circumstances I have had to cashout my bankroll!!

I had built my bankroll up to $177.00 (from the original 9 buy ins operation I done recently.($50.00)) but had to cash it out last night as I needed the cash for summin...

Anyway, this has pissed me off somewhat as I was on a nice run and had nearly got out of the red on sharkscope (-$22 in 138 games)!! I wont be able to put it all back until probably nearer xmas!!

    few questions...

1)What should I do in the meantime? should I re-read HOH1 & 2 too refresh my memory? keep reading and posting on the forums?
2)most importantly can this "break" possibly be good for me (poker wise)?
    3) should I take up chess for a bit lol

Reading poker books always helps; especially HOH 1/2, but have you ever read The Theory of Poker by Sklanksy? HOH 1/2 are definitely among the best books written on poker, but TOP is the best book I've read on the subject.

I'v only read HOH1 &2. got super system, think im gonna re read that as when I first read it it was when I first started.

My friend has got TOP so might ask him for a shot of that. cheers.

Really annoyed I had to cash out. nothin I can do though!!
    Ah well...

    sorry to hear it man.

about a month back i almost cashed out too, good job neteller fucked it up for me otherwise id be back at square one. one of the worst months of my life etc etc....you'll be back beforer you know it.

Ask santa for 100 bucks for xmas

    anyway on books;

    HoH 1 and 2-must read, HoH3=crap

Super system2 = worst book i ever read (load of bollox)

Pychology of poker=good read but not much too it

TOP=quality though i think its more useful if you have read some others book s first.

on holdem for advanced players now but only read first few pages.

$177 isn't really going to buy you much... I would seriously try looking elsewhere and keep on grinding before cashing out.

I disagree with HOH3 being crap, i think its easily the best of the series.

Perhaps a more charitable assessment would be that Book 3 isn't quite up to the same standard as Books 1 and 2, both of which were solid gold.

okay it sucks but im locked right now but my judgement is as solid as ever

charity would be to say the book is good. im not in that game so i say it sucks.

firstly the point system is crap, i wouldnt even keepp track of what my scores are coz itrs irrelevent since not much sense can be made of them.

secondly your basically told the answer in the question ie opp is crazy loose calling station, how do you play??hmm let me think.

cant beleive i preordered it, i should of known since cover is grey = boring

If I thought I could get the cash somewhere else without cashing I would...

I guess I'll just have to put it all back again when I can. I'll be able to put the whole lot back in again in due course.

    Gonna re-read HOH2, starting today.

Gonna be "out of action" for about 6-7 weeks (man thats ages !!)!!
Have to look at it positively though and just read read read...

just finished a 5 week stint out of action due to my broadband being down.

Trust me if you read as you say you will you'll really notice the difference when you come back. I read HOH 1 and 2 3 times during that month!!

You might also wanna try reviewing your old HH like flying saucy did. I hear that can be REALLY useful.

Too bad you had to cash out.

Other then reading you can probably take a shut at a few freerolls, see how it goes, maybe you can pick up some cash and restart your bankroll

HOH 1&2 screwed my poker ego!!!!!

But then I made the big mistake of thinking that 5$ players had actually read it or even understood some of the ideas.

However it did tell me how I should be playing. The next step on my learning journey was realising and understanding the the nature of my opposition. They are not Dan Harrington, and any thoughts to the contrary is a flaw.

OP, sorry you had to cash out. From reviewing some of your HHs you were really improving, and I worry that the break will cause you to become rusty. Hope you manage to get your BR together again soon.

Very very very true. I have lost count of the number of times I've had to respond to low buyin players who justify a bad call preflop on the basis on "varying my play" with "your opponents aren't paying attention to anything but their own cards and sometimes not even those!"

Harrington talks in a way about it too I think - you have to adjust to the table you are at - if the table is full of donks dont run plays that are based on careful observation by opponents

I definately noticed an improvement in my game in the last month or so.
Pretty dissapointed I had to cash out (wont go into the ins and outs of it as its irrelavent!)

Im defo gonna put the whole $177.00 back and pick up where I left off as soon as I can.

Thanks for all the advice. Gonna review a few HH's. may even post a few old ones to keep me occupied etc.

"dear santa, please bring me a bankroll, cheers a lot."

For now I guess I'm just a student lol

I agree, but only if you take the time to review your answers. It is a great tool to catch any leaks in your game.

I was going to say the exact thing. You should definitely take some time to review your HH's. Much can be learned when you go back and look at how you reacted to certain situations.
