#2 looks like a Q that tried to check-raise you on the turn, didn't get to do it and then makes a big bet to make up for it.

I absolutely hate #1-4, I am not good/bad enough to fold #5.

I'd call #5 and fold all the others unless you have a read you are very certain about, if I'm going to make superthin calls I'd rather make them oop, like #4 is, but even then I'd like some kind of read on the guy.

yep you can definately make the call in number two against some players, but i really hate the rest. and yeha i pretty much always call the last one.

I have been so depressed the last few days that I forgot about this post. Here are the results.

1) He had Q8o, MHIG.
2) He had Q7s, MHING.
3) He had 97s, MHIG.
4) He had 33, MHING. (bah, at least my read was right)
5) He had A2o, MHING.

I realize that most of these calls look absolutely terrible, and they are definitely not standard for me, but I have been seeing a lot of 'oop floating' recently, especially on super dry boards like the first hand.

Also, for #5, I really felt sick hitting the call button. For gabe and others that think this is an insta-call, what do you put him on? Keep in mind it's an unraised pot, and he is not an idiot. I really think if I had more time I could have folded it. I mean, he's definitely not shoving this river with a straight or trips...

Why do you prefer to make these calls oop? Checking oop and checking behind on the turn are pretty similar in that they both show a lot of weakness, don't you think?

When you are OOP you are checking to him twice though, and that is showing more weakness then just checking behind turn in my opinion. Checking to him on river is kind of like saying "I'd like a free showdown", while checking behind on turn you still have the option to bet river. It's player dependent though, but at least from what I've seen players seem to have a good hand more often when betting into me on river than when they bet after me when I'm oop.

And in hand 2, 44 is possible yeah,67s, 55 and 88-JJ too as well as a queen sometimes I think. Some people will go for a turn check-raise with a Q here as well as the other hands.

out of all of them i like #2 least i think....whatever he has (44, 88, Q) i think he's trying to represent busted clubs way more often than he actually has busted clubs with that riv bet
